Lovely commercial jingle

NTT’s commercial song. A popular jingle.

NTT’s TV commercials often feature clever concepts—some are funny, others are striking and memorable.

The music they use also includes many catchy songs that stick in your head.

But even if you find a song you like, you might think, “I’ve heard this so many times, but I don’t know the artist or the title!” If I can help answer those questions, I’d be delighted.

With a star-studded cast—including Gen Hoshino, who’s also active as an actor, comedian Naomi Watanabe, and the promising actress Kanna Hashimoto—the ads are a feast to watch.

Premonition of a RainbowHirahara Ayaka

It was released in 2004 as Ayaka Hirahara’s fourth single.

This was the first single for which Ayaka Hirahara herself wrote both the lyrics and the music, and it was used in the NTT DoCoMo “N506i” commercial.

It was her first appearance in a commercial, and the song was written specifically for the ad.

harborsupittsu

It’s a song filled with the longing for a reunion, while recalling the days spent with someone who has departed.

The lyrics convey a blend of wistful sadness—repeatedly remembering those shared days and letting one’s thoughts drift at the harbor—and the hope for meeting again.

It’s a light, yet poignantly memorable melody.

It is one of Motohiro Hata’s hit songs and became an unusually long-running hit for an anime song.

Where dreams are foundNaoto Intiraymi

It’s said that it will be used not only in the NTT Docomo commercial but also as the theme song for the animated film “Monster Strike THE MOVIE: To the Place of Beginnings.” Since the chorus is so memorable, I think many people have heard it.

The sparkling melody line matches the lyrics very well.

travelingUtada Hikaru

It was used as the song for NTT DoCoMo’s “FOMA” commercials.

Released in 2001 as Hikaru Utada’s ninth single, it became a big hit, aided by its uplifting theme and a distinctive music video directed by Kazuaki Kiriya that made extensive use of CG and animation.
