It was released in 1994 as DEEN’s fifth single.

The song became the group’s first number one on the Oricon chart and sold over a million copies.

It was used in a commercial for Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s Pocari Sweat, and since the lyrics were written by ZARD’s Izumi Sakai, ZARD later did a self-cover arranged as a ballad.

gloriousGLAY

Released in 1996 as GLAY’s eighth single.

With this song, GLAY made their first entry into the Oricon Top 10 for a single.

The lyrics are filled with scenes from Hakodate, where they spent their childhood and teenage years.

It was used as a commercial song for “Victoria.”

Just OneHoobastank

This is the song that was used in Asahi Beer’s Super Dry commercial.

The ad featured major MLB stars like Hideki Matsui and Daisuke Matsuzaka.

It’s a 2003 track by the American band Hoobastank.

By the way, Hoobastank’s vocalist looks strikingly similar to Deco, the former Portuguese national soccer player.

Released in 1998 as JUDY AND MARY’s 17th single.

It was used as the TV commercial song for NTT DoCoMo PHS and became the second single cut from the album “POP LIFE,” following “Irotoridori no Sekai.” After releasing this song, the band went on a one-year hiatus.

It’s a cute, girlish track.

It’s a song that was used in an iPod commercial in 2003.

It’s by the Australian band Franz Ferdinand and is one of their signature tracks that became a global hit.

In Japan, you might recognize it as the air guitar song performed by Daichi from the comedy duo Dainoji.

Gotta GAMBA, right?LINDBERG

It was LINDBERG’s 19th single, released in 1994.

The song reached No.

1 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart and was used in a commercial for Shinken Zemi’s Junior High School Course.

Since that course is associated with entrance exams, the song also became an anthem encouraging test-takers.

LINDBERG is a very cool band, and Maki Watase’s husky vocals are especially striking.

SHINELUNA SEA

It was featured in Toyota’s “Intelligent Navigation” commercial and reached No.
