Compilation of Suzuki commercial songs: The appeal of friendly J‑Pop and Western music (71–80)
Rusty NailX JAPAN

The Swift commercial that aired in 2008 featured X Japan’s “Rusty Nail.” These days, car commercials often seem to use chic and stylish tracks, but it shows that they used to go with passionate, hard-rock sounds like this as well.
The ad’s visuals are directed like a race promotion, which looks really cool and perfectly matches the song’s aggressive vibe.
It’s surprising how much the impression can change depending on the music used.
a grown-up childkyarī pamyu pamyu

Otona na Kodomo, written and composed by Yasutaka Nakata, is a song that conveys the feeling of wanting to seem a little more grown-up.
The track was used in the MR Wagon commercial, the “Wit Night Club” version.
It drew attention because Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, usually known for her colorful outfits, appeared in an all-black costume.
THE EDGE OF CHAOS ~Strike of Love~Fukuyama Masaharu

It’s a song included on Masaharu Fukuyama’s album “5 Nen Mono,” released in December 2006, and it was used as the commercial song for the Suzuki SX4.
It has a driving, exhilarating feel.
The album ranked No.
1 on the Oricon weekly chart.
For Your LoveStevie Wonder

This commercial features Stevie Wonder’s song “For Your Love.” The Alto is truly one of the best-selling kei cars, and I’m sure many people have ridden in one.
The Alto celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2019.
In this ad, the relationship of “a parent and child who never change no matter how old they get” is paralleled with “the Alto, which has been by everyone’s side for 40 years,” and the song helps portray the bond between parent and child.
Mambo No.5

This Crosstrek commercial uses the song “Mambo No.
5.” Within the mambo genre, this track is among the most well-known, and many Japanese people probably recognize it.
The ad is built around the concept of going out with friends, using the song to create a fun vibe.
It features footage of surfing with a dog, which really grabs your attention even if you’re just absentmindedly watching TV.
Love Changes (Everything)Climie Fisher

This is a song released in 1987 by the pop duo Climie Fisher, formed in the UK by Simon Climie and Rob Fisher.
It was used in a Suzuki Cultus commercial.
Climie Fisher disbanded in 1990.
