A roundup of songs from Suzuki commercials: the appeal of friendly J-pop and Western music (1–10)
Alright!!Superfly

In the 2015 Escudo “Sprint” commercial, the song used was Superfly’s especially rock-leaning track “Alright!!”.
The ad showcased the Escudo tearing through all kinds of rough conditions— from unpaved roads and puddles to muddy, steep hills— with impressive speed.
Ochi Shiho’s vocals are so powerful they more than match the presence of such a tough SUV! It’s a popular song with a catchy melody and powerful vocals that make you want to sing along.
Kiss the windGLIM SPANKY

In the 2024 Solio Bandit commercial “Shiritori Drive,” featuring Kanna Hashimoto and Fuju Kamio, the two are shown playing shiritori while driving.
It starts out raining, but by the end of the ad the weather clears and a rainbow appears before them! This charming, refreshing spot uses GLIM SPANKY’s “Kaze ni Kisu o Shite” as its BGM.
Released in 2024, the 10th anniversary of their major-label debut, the song was crafted with the image of a breezy tune you’d want to hum along to while driving.
Just as they intended, it’s a perfect track for a sunny-day drive.
Run! -ZZ ver.-Momoiro Kurōbā Zetto

Speaking of Suzuki commercials, the ones featuring the members of Momoiro Clover Z were incredibly popular at the time, weren’t they? Of course, their songs were used, and in the “Free Vehicle Inspection: Announcement” version, one of their signature tracks, ‘Hashire! -ZZ ver.-,’ was featured.
The lyrics’ message, which aligns with the wish for people to go through the free inspection and drive safely, is really nice, isn’t it? The gentle, soothing melody also helps convey a sense of reassurance about the inspection, doesn’t it?

Boogie RideKubota Toshinobu

In Suzuki’s commercial for the Escudo SUV, titled “The Whole Earth Is a Stage,” Toshinobu Kubota appears, and his own song “Boogie Ride” plays.
When you think of SUVs, you might first picture something solid, powerful, and rugged.
In fact, the commercial shows the Escudo powerfully advancing over rough terrain.
However, SUVs have recently become popular across a wide range of age groups, combining not only strength but also a refined sense of style.
This track is a perfectly stylish song to promote that new image of SUVs.
Je te veuxÉric Satie

The commercial “Breathing Wild” for Suzuki’s crossover SUV, the Fronx, which began sales in Japan in October 2024.
Using footage of wolves, horses, birds, and more, it highlights a refined appeal that ties into the ad’s title.
The background music is an arranged version of Erik Satie’s 1900 chanson masterpiece “Je te veux.” With its striking, noble-sounding melody, it’s a tune many people recognize even if they don’t know the title.
The title is pronounced “Juh tuh vuh” in French.

The BGM by Maia Hirasawa further enhances the sense of happiness.
Original song
An original song used in Suzuki Solio’s commercial, “New Hybrid Debut.” The lively tune, which plays alongside the comedic Solio dance performed by Kanna Hashimoto, Fuju Kamio, Papaya Suzuki, Ruki Tanaka, and Aomi Nakano, perfectly matches the vibe of the commercial.
The lyrics, which highlight the car’s selling points, serve as an excellent, easy-to-understand explanation that really sticks in your ears.
It’s a CM song brimming with pop sensibility that grabs your attention the moment it comes on TV.
