Craft paper hat

Let’s try making a hat using materials like kraft paper.
First, crumple the kraft paper into a ball to soften it.
Then wrap it around your head and secure it with tape at just the right size.
Once it’s taped, feel free to adjust the length and shape as you like.
You can tear it by hand or twist it, too.
After you’ve settled on a shape, try decorating it with tissue paper or origami.
When your one-of-a-kind hat is finished, having a fashion show can be lots of fun!
Flower papercut

Kirie—the art of creating beautiful patterns simply by folding and cutting origami—is a craft filled with surprise and discovery.
Fold the origami paper several times until it becomes a triangle.
Draw motifs like snowflakes or hearts, then cut them out with scissors.
The moment you unfold the paper and a completely unexpected pattern spreads out is pure excitement.
Depending on how you sketch the design and where you cut, you can create completely different works even with the same theme.
Choosing colored origami paper or adding glitter for the finishing touch makes the result more vibrant and striking.
Through the process, you can develop dexterity and a sense of design, and once displayed, the pieces brighten up any room.
bag
Tissue boxes often have cute designs, don’t they? Here’s an idea for making a bag that makes the most of those designs.
In this project, you cut a tissue box and shape it into a handbag.
Not only does it look adorable, but the gusset gives it plenty of room to hold lots of items—that’s a real plus.
Play shopping with this bag, and it’s sure to boost the fun.
You’ll need a box that still has the center perforation intact, so start by getting one ready.
Tissue box bag

A cute, rounded-rectangle shoulder bag—believe it or not, it’s made from an empty tissue box! It’s very easy to make.
Leave the bottom of the empty box attached, and cut a slit so the box can open cleanly in half.
On one side, cut away everything except the bottom and one side wall.
Use the piece you cut off to cover the tissue-dispensing opening.
The key is not to seal it completely.
This opening will hold the tab that acts as the bag’s clasp, keeping the lid firmly shut.
Punch holes, thread a cord for the strap, and decorate in your favorite colors to finish.

Tissue paper teddy bear

Here’s an idea for making a bear using tissue paper.
First, accordion-fold the tissue paper and twist a wire around the center to secure it.
Then, peel and fluff each sheet one by one to create a three-dimensional half-sphere.
By changing the size of the tissue paper or gluing two half-spheres together to make a full sphere, you can create the bear’s parts.
Once the parts are ready, glue them together to form the bear, and finish by adding the eyes and nose.
It takes some patience, but the process itself is simple, so give it a try!
Snow globe made from an empty bottle
Many people have probably received or bought snow globes as souvenirs or gifts.
Why not try making one with an empty jar? It’s easier than you think, and the result is beautiful and soothing.
All you need is an empty jar, a melamine sponge, liquid laundry starch (or thick laundry glue), small figurines or similar parts, and some glitter.
You can get them cheaply at a 100-yen shop.
First, attach the melamine sponge to the inside of the jar lid, then glue the figurines or other parts onto the sponge.
Put glitter into the jar itself, add laundry starch and water, mix, and screw on the lid—that’s it!
chenille stem doll

The fluffy, thick pipe-cleaner dolls are a popular item, especially in Korea.
You’ll use soft pipe cleaners you can find at craft stores; choose a thickness that matches the size of the doll you want to make.
After that, you simply bend the pipe cleaners and shape them, but it’s important to include twisting steps so the shape doesn’t fall apart.
Keep the layering and shaping of the pipe cleaners in mind as you work so the figure becomes three-dimensional.
In addition to adding small decorative details like facial features, it’s also recommended to add color to the pipe cleaners with blush or similar coloring.
