Butterfly flower hair clip

[Summer Vacation Craft] Butterfly & Flower Clips – also lovely as interior decor
Butterfly flower hair clip

Let’s make adorable butterfly and flower clips.

In the video, the butterfly part uses store-bought pieces, but you can also cut your own from sturdy materials like construction paper.

First, decorate the butterfly freely with colored pencils or beads.

Then simply use a hot glue gun to attach the butterfly to a clip, and you’re done! You can make the flowers the same way: punch out lots of flower shapes from origami or construction paper, layer them, and glue them to a clip.

They’re perfect not only for holding books and notebooks, but also as cute interior decorations.

These bright, cheerful accessories will liven up your mood—give them a try!

jewel box

A jewelry box where you can store accessories and treasures—and being able to see the contents even when it’s closed is an important point.

For the base, use a clear, simple box you can even get at a 100-yen shop, so you can decorate it later.

The main decorations are sponge and felt: cut the sponge, attach charms if you like, and stick the pieces inside to create compartments in the box.

Once the inside is done, move on to the outside—sprinkle glitter, attach felt cut to look like lace, and add your own touches to finish the whole piece.

It’s important to decorate with a clear concept in mind, keeping color harmony and balance in the decorations.

Let's make a smartphone case with nail polish

Here’s an idea for making a simple, original smartphone case.

All you need is a clear phone case and a few nail polishes in your favorite colors—both can be found at a 100-yen shop.

Fill a basin or similar container with water, then drip the nail polish onto the surface to create patterns.

A soft marble pattern will float on the water, and it’s exciting even as you’re making it.

Try mixing a few colors or adding polka dots, then gently float the phone case on top, flip it over quickly, and let it dry as is—done!

Cute seasonal decorations and keychains

Using shrink plastic, fluffy pipe cleaners, and clear stickers, you can make seasonal decorations and keychains.

Cut the shrink plastic into any shape you like, then use a single-hole punch to make holes around the edges for threading the fluffy pipe cleaners.

After threading the pipe cleaners, stick clear stickers onto the transparent area in the center.

You can add a chain to make it a keychain, or hang it with a string to turn it into a suncatcher.

Swapping out a seasonally themed keychain for each season is stylish and delightful, isn’t it?

A box for doing hair styling

Why not make a hairstyling box using a large empty box, felt, and yarn? It’s a great craft for kids who love tying or braiding doll hair.

First, cut out parts like the face, eyes, and mouth from felt, and stick them onto the box lid.

As if making a pom-pom, wrap yarn around cardboard, tie it at one point, then cut the looped ends.

Punch holes in the top of the face area on the box, thread the tied yarn through, and attach the “hair” around the face.

Make the side sections and bangs separately.

Also, secure the side hair at the upper left and right sides of the face.

Finally, decorate as you like with ribbons and more, and you’re done! Use the yarn as hair and enjoy styling it.

When it comes to summery drinks, cream soda is a classic! So let’s make a cream soda-themed trinket holder.

This idea uses a flower vase sold at 100-yen shops.

It’s shaped like a rectangle topped with a half-circle, and it already looks like cream soda, doesn’t it? Apply green iridescent origami paper to the rectangular part and white masking tape to the half-circle to represent the drink and the ice cream.

Glue a cherry made from a pom-pom and a craft pipe cleaner to the outside, then insert a straw.

Add iridescent round stickers to mimic bubbles for an even cuter finish.
