[2026] Female-vocal Western bands. Many rock and metal bands featured! (91–100)

CarnivalThe Cardigans

This is a signature song by The Cardigans that helped fuel the Swedish pop boom.

In Japan, it was used in a Toyota commercial and as an insert song in a TV drama, so it’s one of those tracks that even people who don’t usually listen to Western music know.

Cherry BombThe Runaways

This is a song written by The Runaways’ manager, Kim Fowley, and guitarist Joan Jett for their debut album.

The title was taken from the name of lead singer Cherie Currie.

It depicts rebellion against parents and other adults.

The track was used in the 2012 film True Blood.

Drain the BloodThe Distillers

Here’s a hard-hitting track from the female-fronted punk band The Distillers.

While their fashion, songs, and vocal style are all raw and cool, the melodies are catchy and simple, making them easy to get into right away.

Bury Me AliveWe Are The Fallen

A five-piece rock band formed mainly by former members of the gothic metal band Evanescence, We Are The Fallen’s track.

It’s the opening number of their debut album, Tear the World Down, released in 2010, and you could say it’s packed with a sound that truly evokes early Evanescence.

With guitar tones riding on a distinctive drum beat, melodic riffs, and a catchy, beautiful melody, it’s a song whose delicate expressiveness—unusual for a male-fronted band—becomes seriously addictive.

ReachEyes Set To Kill

A hardcore band that blends male screams with clean female vocals.

Amid the intense arrangements, the brief female vocal passages open up a new sonic world for the songs.

The bassist is also a woman, making the band’s mixed lineup rare.

Due to issues with the male vocalist’s throat, their current status is unclear.

We’re hopeful for what’s next.
