Memorable Commercials [2021] (11–20)
Takemoto Piano Songzaitsu ichiro & takemotto

These songs have long been used as the commercial jingles for Takemoto Piano because the company’s founder, Koichi Takemoto, is a fan of Ichiro Zaitsu.
The commercials are often aired as a two-song set—“Motto Motto Takemotto” and “Minna Maaruku”—and have been broadcast unchanged since 2000, making them familiar across generations.
Even as short pieces, the two songs are irresistibly catchy and indispensable as CM jingles, skillfully incorporating Zaitsu’s gags as well.
They’re also known as tunes that can stop babies from crying, leaving a memorable impact on listeners of all ages.
UniHasegawa Hakushi

“Uni” is a song written by Hakushi Hasegawa, a buzzworthy singer-songwriter, for the Google Pixel 6 commercial.
The opening harmony spanning a perfect fifth and the androgynous vocals create a distinctive sound that really sticks in your ears.
Partway through the commercial, there’s also a scene where the title of Hasegawa’s song “Watashi o Mite,” which was used as an insert song in the original animated series Artiswitch distributed on YouTube, makes an appearance.
The Tree of HitachiINSPi

A song known as the representative commercial jingle of the Hitachi Group, including Hitachi, Ltd.
Since it has been used with different arrangements since 1973, it’s a famous tune that people of any generation have likely heard.
With its memorable lyrics, catchy pop melody, and exquisite choral work, it’s a song everyone knows—but in fact, the part used in the commercials is only the A section, and few people realize there’s a full version that includes the B section and the chorus.
Even so, the A section alone has more than enough impact, and it’s cherished as an unforgettable commercial song.
Thinking of my parentsKiyosaku

Used in JT’s web-only commercial series built around the concept “When people think of people, it all becomes song,” the special film ‘Omouta: Thinking of Parents’ features the track ‘Omouta ~Thinking of Parents~.’ It’s sung by Kiyosaku from MONGOL800, who also composed it.
In addition to “Parents,” there are six versions such as “Couple” and “Friends,” all unforgettable and moving once you hear them.
Why not listen to ‘Omouta’ and share your feelings?
Sekisui House SongMurakami Yuki
The Sekisui House Song, used in commercials for the homebuilder Sekisui House, Ltd., headquartered in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, is a famous jingle that almost everyone has heard at least once.
Composed by Asei Kobayashi with lyrics by Hidehiko Hashiba in 1970, it has a long history.
In 2010, to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary, the Sekisui House Song ~ 50th Anniversary Version was produced, sung by singer-songwriter Yuki Murakami.
In 2020, marking the 60th anniversary, the Sekisui House Song ~ 60th Anniversary Version featuring Aki Yashiro was also released.
JoanHata Motohiro

Motohiro Hata is a singer-songwriter with a one-of-a-kind voice that no one can imitate.
His songs are of course great, but many people are probably drawn above all to his vocals.
His voice is especially memorable in Kao’s “Joan” commercial.
In the CM version, the way he sings the product name “Joan” stands out, and when Hata sings it, it somehow sounds like a foreign woman’s name, instantly giving it a stylish feel—how intriguing! The full version of the song is also available, so be sure to give it a listen!
