Balloon, beanbag, and ball play (1–10)
Korokoro Pon Game

Here’s a tabletop game that uses balls.
Prepare balls of different sizes, such as ping-pong balls or rubber balls about the size of a fist.
An older adult rolls a ball from one end of the table.
On the opposite side of the table from where the older adult is rolling, hang a basket.
The game is to roll the ball and get it into this basket.
It can be played while seated, so it seems suitable for older adults who use wheelchairs as well.
Moments like “It almost went in but didn’t!” are likely to make it exciting for the participants.
Lightly lifting the ball with the foot

Let me introduce “Foot-Toss Flick,” a game that doubles as lower-limb functional training.
Prepare a small inflatable pool or a box, and place an overturned trash bin inside it.
Add raised areas around it and assign each area a point value.
The harder the spot, the higher the points.
Once you have some beanbags ready, the game begins.
Place a beanbag on the top of your foot and flick it toward a scoring zone.
Do this 10 times and compete on total points.
Unlike simple stepping in place, doing it with a clear goal can be more effective for maintaining leg function.

Create it by arranging everyday materials! Here are ideas for a wobbly beanbag game.
What you’ll use: beanbags, a plastic tray, and an empty plastic wrap core.
The great thing is you don’t need to buy special materials, so it’s easy to try! To set up, stand the wrap core upright on a table and place the plastic tray with the beanbags on top.
That’s it! Participants then take turns removing beanbags from the tray.
The unstable wrap core wobbles, adding a thrilling challenge!
Balloon attraction

This event is perfect as a sports day recreation for seniors that can be enjoyed easily while seated.
Place a ring on the floor or on a table and set a balloon in the center.
Attach a long string to the balloon, and participants reel in the string to pull the balloon toward themselves.
It’s very safe and allows anyone to take part without strain, which is part of its appeal.
The excitement builds as the balloon gets closer.
The person who catches the balloon first wins, and making it a team competition creates a sense of unity in the venue.
It’s also recommended to try using red and white balloons for the respective teams.
