Everyone Ponta Project Song

Many people probably live their lives thinking about how to make the most of Ponta, a service where you can collect points at a variety of stores, especially Lawson.
One of Ponta’s theme songs—used as in-store BGM at Lawson Store 100—is “Minna Ponta Keikaku no Uta” (The Everyone Ponta Plan Song).
The lyrics read like a self-introduction by Ponta, the service’s mascot character, and convey a playful, upbeat feel reminiscent of a kids’ song.
Because it’s sung with such a bright tone, it helps make both the character Ponta and the Ponta service feel more familiar and approachable.
Light of my lifeWakō Yūto

Doutor Coffee is a pioneering presence among coffee shops in Japan and a well-known chain with locations nationwide.
The in-store BGM they use is “Light of My Life,” composed by violinist Yuto Wako.
With its simple arrangement of piano and violin, the gentle layering of tones creates depth and warmth.
Its soothing, comforting atmosphere is a perfect match for a calm moment enjoying a cup of coffee.
Yodobashi Camera Song

Isn’t this the BGM that everyone has heard, played in Yodobashi Camera stores and on their commercials? It’s the number that uses “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” an American patriotic song, with new lyrics! I think the Shinjuku West Exit version is the most famous, but it seems there are local versions now, too! Just hearing the up-tempo melody and the lyrics that highlight the features of a one-stop electronics megastore and the fun of shopping as a family makes you feel pumped to shop!
All-you-can-eat yodelingKatsura Jakusaburō with Manpuku Burazāzu

If you go to the meat section of a supermarket, there’s almost always this song playing: “Yodel All-You-Can-Eat.” Even if you don’t know the title, just hearing the name and that it plays in the meat section is probably enough to make many people think, “Oh, that song?” (lol).
It’s sung by a rakugo performer named Jakusaburo Katsura and was released in 1996.
The song has a delightfully playful, goofy vibe and is all about grilled meat, which makes you crave some meat before you know it.
EDION March

Inside the consumer electronics retailer EDION, they play a catchy, sing-along BGM that really sticks with you! If you’ve ever been to EDION, you’ll recognize that song—its title is “EDION March.” Once you hear the title, you realize the accompaniment has a march-like feel.
Among all this, what stands out most in the song is the energetic female vocals.
The melody line is cheerful and makes you want to sing along before you know it.
Fish HeavenShibaya Hiromi

At the fresh fish section of the supermarket, a variety of fish are lined up, and that range really highlights the fun of choosing, doesn’t it? A song that seems to capture the enjoyment of walking around that seafood section and the joy of eating fish is “Osakana Tengoku” (“Fish Heaven”).
It was created as a campaign song by the Central Seafood Center of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperative Associations, and it became a hit after being played in supermarkets nationwide.
While incorporating the names of various fish, it’s a song that expresses the fun of eating fish.
K’s Denki Song

This is a song used at K’s Denki, a major consumer electronics retailer, to appeal to people in the store.
The lyrics repeatedly convey the idea that appliances can be bought cheaply, and combined with the upbeat melody, it really communicates a sense of value.
The phrase “Yume Yume Happy,” which isn’t explained in detail in the song, is also memorable and evokes the happiness of getting a good deal and the fun of choosing appliances.
With its light sound and lyrics emphasizing low prices—and by hearing it repeatedly in the store—it’s the kind of song that builds the feeling that you can buy more affordably here than anywhere else.
