[2026] Bold’s historical commercials: spotlight on the funny series of ads

Bold, a laundry detergent with fabric softener, is very popular.

It used to be well-known for the series featuring Yamada Cameron, a neighborly character.

More recently, the “Laundry Daimyo” series starring Fuma Kikuchi has been drawing attention.

All the commercials are humorous and fun to watch, and many people have probably been curious after seeing them on TV.

In this article, we’ll introduce all the Bold commercials that have aired so far.

Be sure to look out not only for Fuma Kikuchi, but also for the overseas actresses who have repeatedly played Yamada Cameron over the years.

[2026] Bold’s All-Time Commercials: Spotlight on the Funny Series (1–10)

P&G Bold Laundry Prince: “Highest-Level Deodorizing Ingredients” VersionFuma Kikuchi, Katsumi Koba

Bold Laundry Prince: Highest-Level Deodorizing Ingredients Version - Citrus - 30 Seconds

Speaking of Bold commercials, Fuma Kikuchi’s “Laundry Daimyo” series is unforgettable, but we mustn’t overlook the “Laundry Prince” series either! The Laundry Prince’s silky blond hair is iconic, and the look suits Kikuchi perfectly.

In the latest “Highest-Level Deodorizing Ingredients” installment, they highlight powerful deodorizing and antibacterial performance.

P&G Bold “Cinderella: The Ball of Noses”

P&G BOLD (Bold) 30-second commercial: Cinderella Nose Ball

When you think of iconic scenes from the fairy tale Cinderella, the beautifully blooming ball probably comes to mind.

But in this Bold commercial, it’s a different kind of “hana”: a “Nose Ball.” While the other women desperately try to make their noses more appealing, Cinderella, who has been diligently doing laundry, encounters a witch and gains a delightful fragrance.

Thanks to that lovely scent, her fate is completely reversed—she wins the prince’s favor and lives happily ever after… or so the story presumably unfolds from here.

It’s a Bold commercial that drags even the world of fairy tales into its orbit, leaving you curious about what comes next—or rather, about this whole “Nose Ball” concept.

The background music is Johann Strauss’s The Blue Danube.

P&G Bold Sun Gel Ball “Blue” Version / “Sun Gel Ball” VersionFuma Kikuchi, Katsumi Kiba, Ken Matsudaira

This is a commercial that comically promotes how Sun Gel Balls can solve the musty, damp smell of laundry.

In the “Blue” version, Fuma Kikuchi plays the Laundry Lord, who’s about to give up on hearing direct complaints from the townspeople, when Ken Matsudaira appears and guides them to a solution.

It powerfully and glamorously conveys that the Blue Sun Gel Balls were co-developed with Febreze and eliminate odors.

In the “Sun Gel Balls” version, Ken Matsudaira solves odor problems with a mysterious beam.

His silent resumption of the beam even when asked for an explanation, and Fuma Kikuchi’s screams as the laundry is blasted, heighten the comedic tone.

A version with replaced BGM is currently available, but when the commercial first aired, “Matsuken Samba II” played during Ken Matsudaira’s entrance.

The song was released in 1999, became a huge hit in the 2000s, and has drawn renewed attention in the 2020s.

When Yuko Ogura visits Ms.

Yamada’s home, she worries that all the laundry hanging around the room will make it feel damp and muggy.

But there’s no need to worry at all—despite being dried indoors, the laundry feels as fresh and smells as nice as if it had been dried in the sun, which surprises her! After seeing this, many viewers will surely feel it’s “unfair,” just like Yuko Ogura does, that Ms.

Yamada can dry her laundry indoors with Bold and get such great results.

P&G Bold “Pleasure Parade”Sydney Hamilton, Saaya Ishikawa

Ultraman Mebius, Ms. Misaki, Bold Commercial (Pleasure Parade version)

The 2011 Bold detergent commercial for delicate clothing became a hot topic because the original Yamada Cameron was played by Sydney Hamilton, and Saya Ishikawa—who served as Acting Director Misaki in Ultraman Mebius—also appeared.

The ad really makes you feel that to remain a stylish and beautiful woman, you have to care about both your detergent and its fragrance!
