[2026] The history of Bold commercials: spotlight on the funny series (21–30)
P&G Bold “Shopping” VersionMiranda Kerr

A Bold detergent commercial features Miranda Kerr playing the third-generation Yamada Cameron, shown buying a huge amount of Bold at a supermarket.
Even as she walks with a cart full of Bold, her beautiful stride is worthy of a top model.
The reason she’s purchasing so much Bold is because the packaging got cuter! Bold already had a pop feel, but the new design is even more charming and sure to captivate women.
Hearing Miranda say in Japanese, “Datte kawaii n da mon” (“Because it’s so cute!”) makes your heart skip a beat.
P&G Bold Gel Ball 4D Laundry Daimyo ‘Wrinkle Prevention’ VersionFuma Kikuchi, Katsumi Koba, Koki Kawasaki, Ryusei Fukada

This is a commercial where Fuma Kikuchi plays the “Laundry Lord,” focusing on the gel pods’ wrinkle-preventing effect.
After seeing the freshly washed laundry, he’s moved by its wrinkle-free, beautiful appearance and pleasant fragrance, and sets out to uncover the secret behind it.
The quick shifts in expression by Kikuchi and the other actors are striking, emphasizing a comedic tone.
Another highlight is Kikuchi appearing in a picture-in-picture during the explanation of the benefits, playfully demonstrating how the gel pods work.
It’s a commercial that conveys how beautifully finished laundry can brighten your mood.

P&G Bold “Nadepita-pon”Karolina Pisarek, Yuko Ogura

Bold laundry detergent wipes out odors on clothes in an instant, with the magic phrase “Nade-Pita-Pon.” This commercial features the fifth Yamada Cameron, played by Polish model Karolina Pisarek, alongside Yuko Ogura.
Everyone’s at a barbecue, but after that—surprise—it’s a classroom visit for the kids! You’d normally worry about that lingering barbecue smell on your clothes, but if you’ve washed with Bold, just a gentle stroke makes the odor stick-fast disappear, and—pon!—it releases a pleasant detergent fragrance.
With Bold, you’re covered even when plans pop up suddenly.
After watching this ad, Yuko Ogura won’t be the only one envying Ms.
Yamada for using Bold!
P&G BoldTetsuji Tamayama, Asashoryu

In the commercials from the period when Tetsuji Tamayama was the main star, Asashoryu—a former sumo wrestler from Mongolia and the 68th yokozuna—makes a guest appearance.
He shows up with the vibe of a tough, intimidating big brother, but the way he’s wiped down with a pure white towel and then rubs his face against it with a beaming smile is somehow so cute and endearing! I never expected Asashoryu, who had a rather brazen image, to make a face like that!
P&G Bold Gel Ball 4D Laundry Daimyo ‘Appearance’ VersionFuma Kikuchi

In the Gel Ball 4D commercial “Bold: The Laundry Lord Appears,” Fuma Kikuchi—who’s active in dramas and variety shows—plays the role of the Laundry Lord and has become a hot topic.
When the lord asks whether the new Bold really gets clothes clean, his retainers and kunoichi explain the details with plenty of humor.
As they describe the four distinctive effects, the number of kunoichi increases to four, astonishing the lord and his retainers.
Learning about Bold’s impressive performance, the lord starts dancing and loudly proclaims to everyone in the castle and the town, “Let’s wash!” It’s a commercial that not only grabs attention with its comedic flair but also clearly conveys the key points.
P&G Bold Gel Ball 4D Laundry Daimyo “Cold Press” EditionFuma Kikuchi

This commercial introduces the cold-press method used to lock the refined fragrance of flowers into Bold Gel Ball pods.
It tells the story behind why the futon used by the “Laundry Lord” is so soft and smells so good.
The ad conveys the idea that using gel pods infused with a fresh, dewy scent to wash your bedding lets you experience a blissful space, as if you’re wrapped in flowers.
Another highlight is Fuma Kikuchi’s blissful expression as he plays the Laundry Lord, which really conveys the richness and brightness of the fragrance.
P&G Bold Gel Ball 4D – Laundry Daimyo “Why such a role?” versionFuma Kikuchi

This commercial exposes the behind-the-scenes story of why Fuma Kikuchi—who had insisted there was no need for a character to promote Bold—ended up taking on the role of the ‘Laundry Lord’ and how he shines in it.
It feels odd that, despite his complaints, he’s playing the Laundry Lord with such high energy.
From there, the scene shifts to Hiroshi Minami, a director of the Japan Hypnosis Association, whispering into Kikuchi’s ear, leading to a shocking twist that reveals why he’s able to embody the Laundry Lord.
While the birth of the Laundry Lord is something to celebrate, the ad’s uniquely quirky tone also leaves you with a slight concern about whether Kikuchi is really okay.
