AlwaysShimoyama Takenori

A track from WAY OF LIFE, the solo album released in 2019 by Takenori Shimoyama, singer of Hokkaido HM/HR band SABER TIGER.

Alongside his band activities, Shimoyama has been energetically touring with his acoustic solo shows titled “Takenori Shimoyama no Yakai.” The vocal prowess and commanding voice he honed there are fully present on this record as well.

I’ve produced his previous series, the Acoustic Tetralogy, and when I first recorded his vocals in the studio, I was blown away by his technique and expressive power.

His delivery can be a bit ornate—but let’s call that part of the charm (haha).

I think he’s a truly one-of-a-kind singer.
