Mr.

Let’s go!! Rider KickShimon Masato

It’s no exaggeration to say that there isn’t a Japanese person who hasn’t heard this Kamen Rider theme song—it’s that famous.
The singer is Masato Shimon, known for “Oyoge! Taiyaki-kun” and for performing many other tokusatsu and anime works.
His singing, with its slightly idiosyncratic vowel and consonant pronunciation, is distinctive enough to be often impersonated by comedians—but that’s part of his charm.
In this track as well, he demonstrates his exceptional vocal ability to the fullest.

At around eleven, he came under the tutelage of Takashi Hosokawa, one of Japan’s top performers, and made his debut in 2019.
His greatest appeal is, above all, his vocal technique.
Not only does his singing style resemble Hosokawa’s, but his vocal ability is of exceptionally high quality.

Who Would Not Think of Their HometownKirishima Noboru

Kirishima Noboru, a popular singer from Fukushima Prefecture, made his debut in 1937 with “Akagi Shigure” and became an overnight sensation the following year with a theme song for a Shochiku film.
After the war, he went on to perform over 3,000 songs, including “Ringo no Uta,” and appeared five times on NHK’s Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
His greatest appeal was, above all, his steady vocal technique.
Beyond his solid projection and pitch, his command of dynamics was superb, and he brought many of the Shōwa era’s classic songs to life.
In 1938, he also scored a massive hit in a duet with “Miss Columbia,” standing out even amid the highly skilled talents of the early Shōwa popular music scene.
Highly recommended for those interested in Shōwa-era classics and the history of Japanese popular song.
