2011 GI Promotion: Arima Kinen Edition

“20th Century Boy,” the mega-famous song by T.
Rex, was released in 1973.
Speaking of T.
Rex, they’re a band that can be considered a leading figure of glam rock and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
From the very intro, the song is striking—it doesn’t feel like an old track at all.
The song pairs perfectly with the powerful, rippling muscles of a champion racehorse, resulting in a dynamic commercial.
It’s also likely one of those irresistible ads for horse racing fans from the T.
Rex generation.

This commercial introducing JRA’s social contribution activities is the “Be With.
Harnessing the Power of Horse Racing for Society.” edition.
The narration, in which the speaker repeatedly asks herself, “Can we be kinder to the environment, to people, and to animals?” is performed by Masami Nagasawa, whose calm tone matches the mood of the ad.
The BGM features the children’s song Kono Michi, sung by Miki Imai.
Her beautiful vocals, accompanied by piano, are a must-hear.
JRA Hello, Special Times. “Special Times” versionMasami Nagasawa, Ai Mikami, Kuranosuke Sasaki

This commercial portrays the special time spent watching horse racing, where you can experience the thrill of the races and the emotional drama surrounding them.
Other members speak to Ryoma Takeuchi about the appeal of horse racing, and by convincing him, they come to share the values of engaging with the sport.
Over the fresh, vibrant visuals set at the racetrack plays Ryokuoushoku Shakai’s signature song, “Mela!” It’s a track that conveys the resolve to start running while carrying anxieties yet believing in oneself, combining a refreshing sound with a strong sense of power.

Behind the big band, iconic moments from past Arima Kinen races are shown, while Masami Nagasawa, Ai Miura, and Kuranosuke Sasaki are moved by what they see.
To heighten the emotion, the big band performs Namie Amuro’s “Hero.” Presented in a grand big-band arrangement, the music evokes the image of a fanfare, further emphasizing the festive, glamorous atmosphere.
JRA “UMAJO no Uta” VersionMasami Nagasawa, Ai Miura

This is a commercial song sung and danced to by Masami Nagasawa and Ai Miake, who appear in various JRA commercials.
It explains UMAJO—women who enjoy horse racing from a variety of perspectives—and directly expresses their feelings.
Thanks to the country-style sound, it gives the impression of emphasizing both the fun of enjoying horse racing and its cuteness.
It straightforwardly conveys the enjoyable aspects of horse racing, such as the horses’ adorable appearance, the way they run their hearts out, and racetracks as sightseeing spots.
JRA HERO IS COMING. ‘Japanese Derby’ Edition 2022Masami Nagasawa, Ai Miura

The song that heightens the excitement as this special race approaches is Namie Amuro’s “Hero.” Its sweeping sound and resounding vocals leave a strong impression and convey the anticipation that a new hero is on the way.
TOKYO 2020 Equestrian Support: “TOGETHER! Higher, More Beautiful. ~Fureai (Interaction) Edition~”Tori Matsuzaka, Tao Tsuchiya

MISIA’s “Kimi no Senaka ni wa Itsumo Ai ga Aru” was the theme song for the JRA equestrian competition series commercials “TOGETHER! Higher, More Beautiful.” JRA commercials often feature tracks with a strong impact and a palpable sense of speed, but this one is a gentle, beautiful number that matches the tagline.
Many of MISIA’s songs are utterly captivating and enchanting, and this track is no exception—it’s one you can completely lose yourself in.
It’s a piece that also sparks the imagination.
