The petals are 3D! How to fold a cute cosmos flowerNEW!

Here’s how to fold a cosmos with eight petals using four sheets of origami paper.
Use your preferred colors for the flower sections and yellow origami for the center.
For the petal parts, make crease lines on 5 cm square origami paper, then fold along those creases.
Each sheet makes two petals.
Cut the tips of the petals into a jagged shape to represent the cosmos.
After making four petal parts, combine and adjust them.
For the center, take a long, narrow strip of yellow origami paper and make lots of small cuts in it.
Assemble it with the flower to finish.
You’ll create a cosmos with beautifully three-dimensional petals.
A cosmos whose petals only need to be folded three timesNEW!

How about a cosmos flower with plenty of petals that looks almost real? Fold a 7.5 cm square of origami paper into a triangle three times, draw the shape of a petal with a pencil, then cut it out.
If you cut it with a jagged edge, you can recreate the distinctive cosmos petals.
Make two of these and glue them together.
For the center, take a yellow piece of origami paper 7.5 cm wide and 2 cm tall, fold it in half, make many fine slits, and roll it up.
Secure the end with glue and gently flare the slit portion outward.
Attach it to the flower, and you’re done.
It’s amazing that you can make a lovely cosmos with just three folds!
Two-colored flowers

Here’s a cute flower you can make with a single sheet of origami paper.
First, turn the paper over and fold it like a boat, then open the corners and squash-fold them.
Fold the top layer upward, and fold the right side to the left.
Using the center as an axis, fold the left corner to the right, leaving a small gap between the corner and the crease.
Rotate and repeat the same steps for the other sides.
Fold each corner to the back by about 5 mm.
Next, flip it over and make a crease only in the middle, then fold up to the creased line to finish.
Adding a round sticker in the center makes it extra cute.
scallop (bivalve)

Seashells are a popular motif for interiors and accessories.
If you’re a girl, you’ve probably seen a mirror or case with a seashell design and thought it was cute at least once, right? So here are some seashell ideas you can make with origami! If you carefully follow the creasing steps, you can create seashells that look almost real.
Make a few pairs, hang them up, and they’ll become interior decor; or line the inside with silver paper and you can play with them like a compact.
It’s sure to delight any girl.
Halloween pumpkin

One of the events children look forward to is Halloween.
Among the decorations you often see is the jack-o’-lantern.
You can make one with just a single sheet of origami paper, so give it a try! Prepare one sheet of origami paper and your favorite pen.
The folding method is simple with only a few steps, so make lots and have fun with them.
When you think of a jack-o’-lantern, you might imagine a slightly scary face, but if you draw a cute face with a pen or add adorable stickers, girls will love it too!
Flowers and seasonal motifs (21–30)
cherry blossom

Cherry blossoms bloom beautifully across Japan in spring.
How about making cherry blossom flowers with origami? Prepare five sheets of pink-toned origami paper and use each one to create a petal.
There are many folds to add to create a three-dimensional look, which makes the process a bit intricate, but once you assemble all the petals, you’ll have a truly lovely piece! Glue the petals together, adjust the shape, and it’s done.
It’s also fun to change the paper size to make cherry blossoms in different sizes.
3D! Star-shaped accessory case

You can flatten and store it when not in use! It’s a star-shaped trinket box.
Fold the origami in half, then in half again to make a square.
After creasing, open it back to the half-folded state, align both side edges to the center line to crease, then unfold.
Fold the two bottom corners up to the outer crease, then fold again so the new creases align with the center line.
In this state, trim off the unnecessary top portion, and the origami becomes a hexagon.
Fold the edges of the hexagon inward, crease the center of the origami into a hexagon, then keep adding creases as you collapse it into a smaller hexagon.
Finally, fold the center area outward to make the opening of the container, press the sides inward to form a star shape, and you’re done!
Hina dolls

Speaking of special events for girls, Hinamatsuri (Girls’ Day) comes to mind.
How about making hina dolls with origami? They’re very easy to fold—just five folds and you’re done! First, place the white side of the origami paper facing up and fold the bottom up at about one-third of the way.
Rotate the paper so that the folded section is on the right, then fold the bottom up the same way.
Once folded, reposition the paper so the white diamond-shaped area is at the top, and turn it over.
Fold the bottom corner up to meet the center, then fold the upper left and right edges inward by about 1 mm, and you’re finished! The white part will be the doll’s face, so draw the hair and facial features to complete it.
Easter egg

Easter is a festival that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It takes place in spring, and rabbits and eggs are considered its symbols.
Let’s incorporate Easter into our crafts! Here, we introduce how to make a bunny Easter egg using a single sheet of origami paper.
The colored side of the paper becomes the egg portion, so using bright colors or various patterned origami will make it look extra cute.
Make lots of them and line them up as decorations to instantly brighten up your room.
Be sure to try making them together with children!
Snowflakes

Snowflakes hold a special place even in the world of origami.
Watching children focus on folding paper while feeling the chill in the air is truly heartwarming.
By moving their fingertips, they can create snowflakes in all kinds of shapes.
Fold a triangle and make a few cuts, and when you open it up, you’ll find astonishingly intricate patterns.
They’re perfect for Christmas decorations and winter crafts.
From toddlers to adults, everyone can enjoy them, making them great for parent-child communication.
How about folding snowflakes in a warm room and savoring the arrival of winter?
