soft serve ice cream

[Easy Origami] 3D Soft-Serve Ice Cream 🍦
soft serve ice cream

Let’s try making a cute soft-serve ice cream in origami, with a gentle swirl sitting on a cone.

Use triangular creases as a guide to form the base edges, then glue the ends together to shape the cone into a diamond-like form.

Next, twist the portion that extends above the cone and shape it into the soft-serve swirl to complete the whole piece.

Aim for a sturdy look on the cone by paying attention to the layered paper, and a soft look for the cream by twisting gently.

When we think of soft-serve, we often picture a yellow or ocher cone with white cream, but it’s also fun to enjoy how changing the colors alters the impression, or to arrange a display of soft serves in various colors as decoration.

The finished piece looks so realistic and delicious that you’ll want to put it on display.

Change the color and you can play around with variations like chocolate croissants.

Folding together as a parent and child naturally creates a fun, shared moment, with smiles gently added to the creation.

Simple yet warm, this food-themed origami is a highly recommended project.

shaved ice

[Made with a single sheet of origami] Easy and cute shaved ice origami — summer food
shaved ice

Would you like to make a summer classic—shaved ice—out of origami? First, crease the origami paper along the diagonal and place it so a corner is pointing toward you.

Fold the bottom corner up to the center.

Next, fold the upper-left edge along the diagonal that’s parallel to you, then flip the paper over.

Fold the left and right edges to meet the center line, and turn the model upside down.

From there, keep folding while shaping it with a shaved-ice silhouette in mind until it’s complete.

If you add a straw-spoon made from another sheet of origami paper, it will look even more like shaved ice!

donut

donut

Let’s try folding a simple ring-shaped donut.

Fold a sheet of origami paper in half and cut it to make two rectangles.

Fold each one into a long, narrow trifold, then fold it in half.

From the center crease, leave about 1.5 centimeters of space and fold both sides up at right angles.

Next, insert one piece into the pouch-like end of the other and join them into a ring—your donut is complete! Since it’s very simple as is, you can use patterned origami paper or decorate it with washi tape and stickers to make it cute.

pudding

I’m going to show you how to fold a jiggly, delicious-looking pudding.

You can make it with just one sheet of origami paper, and the steps are very simple! First, place the colored side of your favorite origami paper facing up and fold it in half.

Open it, then fold the bottom edge up to meet the center crease.

The top will become the caramel layer at the end, so fold it down just a little.

Turn it over so the white side is facing up.

Fold it in half and open it, then fold both top corners in to meet the vertical center line.

Fold the bottom up slightly, and make small triangular folds on both ends—then your pudding on a plate is complete.

If you color the caramel part brown, it will look even more like real pudding!

Macaron

How to fold and make an origami macaron [Easy 1 minute]
Macaron

Let me show you how to make a stylish treat girls love—macarons—using just one sheet of origami paper.

First, fold the paper in half.

Open it, then fold the bottom part up to a little above the center.

Fold it slightly back down, and fold the top part the same way.

The key point is to leave a small gap in the middle to create the cream at the end.

Turn it over, fold it almost in half leaving a small margin at the edge, and tuck the edge into the folded section.

Fold all four corners, tuck the folded parts inward, and your macaron is complete.

You can draw fruit on the cream part or color the cream in your favorite shade to make it look even tastier.

Rainbow Candy

Rainbow Candy

A popular candy as a snack for kids.

You can’t eat candy made from origami, but if it’s rainbow-colored, just carrying it around might lift your spirits.

Make eight identical parts and assemble them together.

When combining them, use glue or double-sided tape and attach them one by one.

Finally, insert a stick and secure it to finish! Regular origami paper is fine, but using colored transparent origami makes it extra cute—and even more delightful.
