Characters and Animals (11–20)
hamster

I’ll show you how to fold a cute hamster using a single sheet of origami paper.
First, fold the paper in half into a square twice to make creases.
Make a small cut, about 5 mm, on one of the crease lines.
Fold along the cut diagonally, then fold the edge with the cut up to the center.
Flip it over and fold the left and right edges to the center crease.
Turn it sideways and fold the white side to the center to make a crease.
Match the top single layer of the edge to the center line, open it up, and squash-fold it.
Fold both protruding corners down, then fold the corner tips back up.
Fold down diagonally so that the corners stick out at the bottom, fold the tips slightly, and fold the left and right corners.
Next, with the colored side facing down, fold both corners to the center, then fold so that the corners stick out to the outside.
Fold the corners inward.
Draw the face with a pen, and you’re done!
Pikmin

These are cute origami recreations of characters from Nintendo’s game Pikmin, which features many mysterious creatures! Let’s make three characters: Red Pikmin, Blue Pikmin, and Yellow Pikmin.
Each can be made using two small sheets of origami paper.
Since there are some fine folds, if small paper is tricky to work with, we recommend trying with regular-sized origami first.
Don’t forget to use round stickers to draw the eyes and to add each character’s signature items.
They’re so adorable you’ll definitely want to show them off to friends and family!
butterfly

How about making a cute, pretty butterfly that flutters through the air? Prepare origami paper in your favorite colors and patterns, and start by creasing it into four squares.
Some steps—like diagonal folds to shape the butterfly—can be a bit tricky, but keep imagining the butterfly as you fold.
Tuck in the corners to round them off, and once you’ve created those adorable rounded wings, you’re done! Using patterned origami from the start is great, but it’s also fun to fold with plain white paper and decorate it afterward with pens or stickers to add your own designs.
owl

An owl gracefully dancing across the autumn night sky.
If you make one with origami, the kids will surely love it.
It might seem a bit difficult, but if you fold slowly and carefully, you’ll end up with a lovely owl.
Folding the feet and wings in detail makes it look lifelike, almost real.
Folding together with your child will let you feel the arrival of autumn and spend a warm, cozy time.
Finally, draw the eyes and wing patterns, and you’ll have a one-of-a-kind owl.
Miffy

How about making an easy Miffy using white origami paper? First, fold the square in half to make a crease, then fold the top and bottom toward the center.
Fold it in half again, open it using that crease, and fold the tip into a triangle to form the ears.
Fold the left and right sides toward the center to narrow it a bit, then open the other tip and fold it into a triangle—this will be the face.
Next, round off the ear tips by folding them back and turn the model over; you should see the face shape.
Finally, draw cute eyes and Miffy’s distinctive X-shaped mouth with a black pen, and your Miffy is complete!
Characters and Animals (21–30)
reindeer

Reindeer play an important role in delivering the precious presents and Santa that children look forward to.
Let’s make one of these wonderful reindeer using just a single sheet of origami paper.
You can fold the antlers and body without using scissors or glue! There are many steps, but the folds are simple, so you’ll enjoy the process.
The shape of the antlers and the roundness of the body will change depending on the folding angles, so try creating your very own cute reindeer.
A bright red nose looks cute drawn with a pen, and a round sticker would be lovely too!
Cute winter fairy
Here’s an idea for making a little fairy using two sheets of origami paper.
The face takes 7 folds and the body takes 4 folds to complete! Let’s start with the face.
Place the paper with the white side up, fold it in half by matching the left and right corners, crease well, then open it.
Next, fold the top left and right edges in to meet the center crease.
Flip the paper over, fold the bottom corner up into a triangle, then fold it up again so the whole paper forms an isosceles triangle.
Flip it over, fold the bottom two corners inward, and the face is done.
For the body, follow the same steps up to making the creases and folding the left and right edges to the center.
From there, fold the bottom corner up to form an isosceles triangle, and the body is complete! Glue the parts together, then draw the face and hair to finish.
