star

The star is a classic decoration for Christmas trees.
Here, we’ll show you an easy way to fold a paper star.
First, fold the origami paper in half into a square twice, then squash the pocketed part to make two triangles.
Next, on both the front and back, fold the left edges of the triangles in to meet the center line.
Once that’s done, on either side, grab the right corner and pull it to the right.
The pocket will open up, forming the two bottom points of the star.
Finally, fold the remaining two corners over the center triangle, then fold them back outward to neaten the shape.
It’s simple, so give it a try!
Characters/Animals (1–10)
Unicorn

How about making a unicorn origami that you can enjoy with your child? Creating a magical unicorn is a wonderful opportunity to deepen parent–child communication.
If you use multiple colors, you can achieve even richer expression.
Once it’s finished, adding eyes, a nose, and a mouth to give it personality is also recommended.
With a few custom touches, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind original unicorn.
Sanrio character(s)

If they’re girls, many kids probably love Sanrio characters, right? When it comes to Sanrio, Hello Kitty, Kuromi, and My Melody are especially famous.
Here’s an idea to make those Sanrio characters with origami.
This is sure to be a hit! Basically, you just fold the paper following the steps.
However, some characters may require scissors, so if a child is making them, please do it together with a guardian.
A rabbit hopping and bouncing

It’s a rabbit idea that jumps with a spring when you press and release its bottom.
Since it has many steps and lots of delicate work, this is an origami project for adults.
That said, it’s also the kind of idea that kids will want to play with.
If origami is your hobby or you’re really into it lately, why not make one for your child or a friend’s child? If you style the face like a certain well-known character, it becomes even more adorable! The finished rabbit ends up quite small, so please fold each step carefully.
cat

When it comes to cute animals, cats are a must.
There are many cat lovers, and cat-related videos and goods are popular across all ages.
Many people find their daily fatigue soothed by cats.
Here, we have an idea for making an adorable cat out of origami.
It’s just the face, but you can make a cute cat with perky ears—so give it a try! By changing the color of the origami or drawing patterns, you might even be able to make one that looks just like your own cat.
Kids will love it too, so definitely give it a go!
