Card Flipping Race

Crawling, Walking, Running, etc. (3): Card-Flipping Race
Card Flipping Race

Divide into two teams, such as Heads vs.

Tails or White vs.

Black.

Place items in the gym that have two sides, and flip them to your team’s color.

Set a time limit, and the team with more items showing their color at the end wins.

Because it only involves flipping items, it’s a game that even children who aren’t good at sports can enjoy participating in.

Online sorting game

[Motor Skills] Lineup Sorting Game | Great for Icebreakers!
Online sorting game

This is a game where team members line up on a single line drawn on the ground and try to quickly rearrange themselves into a specified order.

The rule is that all movement must be completed on the line, so work together to avoid stepping off while swapping positions.

Where you place your feet and what posture you take are also important, and it’s crucial to move carefully while keeping speed in mind.

Holding hands with people around you or other forms of cooperation may also be important for increasing speed.

Judgment Boost! Bingo Relay

When you think of a relay, you probably picture teammates taking turns running toward the finish line, where being a good runner gives you a big advantage.

This version adds a thinking element to the relay, making it more game-like and easier for people who aren’t good at running to join.

After running, you arrive at a set of spaces with holes in the middle; you place your team’s piece there and pass the turn to the next runner.

Repeat this, and the first team to complete a row wins.

It’s designed so that you can also block the other team and pull off a comeback by completing your row first.

Ball-catching game

Physical Development Exercise 12: Ball-Grabbing Game
Ball-catching game

Here’s a game called “Ball Grab” that can strengthen concentration and decision-making.

First, two people stand facing each other with a ball placed between them.

It’s a simple game where the person who grabs the ball first when the caller says “Ball” wins.

The caller also says other words like “head,” “shoulders,” or “butt,” and the players must touch that body part accordingly while waiting.

Because you have to listen carefully, react, and move your body, it also helps build quick reflexes.

It’s a game you can enjoy even in a small space, so give it a try!

Newspaper War

Physical activity play to enhance children's motor skills: 8. Newspaper play (Newspaper Battle)
Newspaper War

Make plenty of balls out of newspaper.

Two teams face each other and throw those balls back and forth; the team that gets the most balls into the opponent’s court within the time limit wins.

You must not throw or kick many at once.

It’s a seemingly simple game with strategic depth—how the team moves as a unit, what to do with balls that end up deep in the court, and so on.

Also, tossing balls beyond the back of the opponent’s court makes things harder for them, so it could be considered a kind of tactic.
