JR commercial roundup: A comprehensive look at ads featuring trains (41–50)
JR East JRE BANK Exciting Trip “Thanks for the Perks” Version / “Heck Yes to Points” Version

This commercial lightheartedly introduces the benefits of JRE BANK, offered by JR East, set against scenes of people heading off on trips.
It highlights plans that make travel more enjoyable, such as 40% discounts on Shinkansen fares and bonuses of 6,000 points.
Even the smiles that appear during their relaxed journeys convey just how good of a deal these perks are.

JR East View Card “Gold Card” VersionHidekazu Majima, Anna Yamada

This commercial, which begins with the line “Adults need breathing room,” is JR East’s View Card commercial, the “Gold Card” version.
It promotes how the View Card Gold lets you earn lots of points when booking Green Car seats or Shinkansen tickets.
However, the man who declared “Adults need…” at the beginning ends up getting so carried away by the great deals that he bursts into triumphant laughter.
It’s a memorable ad with humor and a dynamic sense of pacing.
JR West “Online Reservation Baseball” version

Featuring a woman watching a baseball game, this is a commercial introducing JR West’s online reservation service.
It seems she had reserved a Shinkansen for the trip home in advance, but unfortunately the game went into extra innings.
However, the commercial shows how easily you can change your reservation online, and many viewers were likely impressed by its convenience.
JR Smart EX “Easy! Change Reservation” version

This is a commercial introducing the convenience of Smart EX, the Shinkansen’s online reservation service.
In the new “Easy! Change Reservations” edition, it highlights how you can easily and freely modify your reserved Shinkansen tickets right on your smartphone.
Since travel often comes with sudden plan changes, it’s a truly welcome feature.
The background music is “Love Later” by sumika, included on their 2025 album “Vermillion’s.” With its mellow vibe, the song charmingly portrays love through letters.
JR Central: Tokyo Thrills “Night View” EditionSosuke Ikematsu, Yuka Mukaizato

This commercial shows Sosuke Ikematsu heading out to see Tokyo’s night view after his partner suggests, “Let’s go see the night skyline sometime.” At first, Ikematsu says, “Night views all look the same, right?” But once he actually visits Tokyo and sees the city lights, he’s captivated by a beauty beyond what he imagined.
With the tagline “Tokyo Zokuzoku,” the commercial promotes sightseeing in Tokyo using JR Central (JR Tokai).
JR West ‘ONE PIECE × Sanyo Shinkansen Project Launch!’ Edition

This is a commercial announcing a collaboration campaign between the hugely popular anime One Piece and the Sanyo Shinkansen.
It introduces that, starting in April 2025, special-design Shinkansen trains themed around One Piece will be in service.
There will be three different train designs, and the onboard chime will feature “We Are!”, with onboard announcements voiced by the One Piece voice actors.
It’s a can’t-miss campaign for anime fans and railway enthusiasts alike.
JR Kyushu “JR Kyupo Reward Ticket Starts!!” Version

This is a promotional commercial for JR Kyushu’s point system, JR Kyupo.
It explains that you can earn points by using JR Kyushu-related services and use those points to ride the train.
The catchy visuals featuring the mascot character, Kyupo-chan, are really eye-catching!
