The song used in Lion’s “Super NANOX” commercial featuring Kazunari Ninomiya from Arashi is “Zigeunerweisen,” composed by the violinist Sarasate.

Known for its violin tone that evokes melancholy and sorrow, this piece is often used in commercials and variety shows, typically as background music when someone is shocked.

In the commercial as well, the music begins right after shocking information about conventional detergents is mentioned.

It’s also frequently used in figure skating programs—Yuzuru Hanyu and Kazuki Tomono have both performed to this piece.

Even if you don’t know the title, many people likely recognize its memorable violin melody.

In the Soflan “Aroma Rich” commercial featuring Yui Aragaki in a pure white outfit, the music used is an original CM track composed by Shugo Tokumaru.

The gentle, airy melody perfectly matches the mysterious atmosphere of the flower field where Yui Aragaki stands, leaving a memorable impression.

The soft sounds are woven to suit the product image of offering an unchanging scent, as if you were always in a field of flowers.

It’s a melody that gives the impression you could almost sense a pleasant fragrance just by listening.

Blue DiamondHikawa Kiyoshi

A song for Blue Dia from 2003.

Blue Dia is a laundry detergent that Lion released back in the Lion Fat & Oil era.

Although there were periods when it was discontinued, it remains one of the company’s most historic brands.

Its selling point was the Gold-Silver-Pearl giveaway.

The deciding factors for choosing Kiyoshi Hikawa were likely his clean-cut image and his popularity among housewives.

Here is the commercial set in a drugstore where Yui Aragaki explains the features of Soflan Aroma Rich, made with a new manufacturing method.

Creating music that promotes the product’s qualities without interfering with the announcer’s voice or Aragaki’s voice is actually quite difficult, isn’t it? This track evokes the image of a fresh fragrance welling up—never too assertive, yet not too sterile—and it builds toward the end.

It may not be particularly memorable, but isn’t it actually a hidden masterpiece?
