[January 2025] A roundup of commercials that caught my attention

These are two commercials for Garigari-kun, the flagship product of Akagi Nyugyo.

In the “Various Garigari-kun Songs A” version, Pokasukajan performs the “Garigari-kun Song” in a variety of arrangements.

The other one, the “Summer Festa” version, showcases scenes from an event held in 2024, where you can enjoy a brass band performance and a choral rendition of the “Garigari-kun Song.”

This commercial, which began airing in 2025, features Ryoma Takeuchi joining Masami Nagasawa, Ai Miike, and Kuranosuke Sasaki—familiar faces from JRA’s ads.

During a break on set, Nagasawa passionately pitches the appeal of horse racing to Takeuchi.

He shows interest, but when she invites him to go watch together, he turns her down with a “Maybe another time,” prompting Nagasawa to shout, “You’re not coming?!” in a humorous scene.

It makes you curious about how the story will continue in future spots.

The CM song is Ryokuoushoku Shakai’s 2020 hit “Mela!” With its cast and BGM, the ad feels refreshingly new compared to 2024.

It’s well known as the theme song of the radio program All Night Nippon, and originally a piece by American trumpeter Herb Alpert.
