au iPhone 14: The “What to Do About a Sidekick?” Edition

Kenta Kiritani’s “XX love” leaves everyone speechless in the ‘Santaro Series’: “Well, it’s Ura-chan, so it’s fine (lol)” [au ‘Santaro Series’ New CM: “What to do about the sidekicks”]

Have you seen the “What to do about the companions?” episode of au’s Santaro commercial series, which is based on Japanese folktales? In it, there’s a gentle, soothing melody playing at a relatively low volume.

In the latter half of the ad, the melody shifts into a ringtone, so it’s easy to miss.

Still, it’s a wonderful piece that perfectly matches the world of the commercial, so I hope you’ll give it a focused listen at least once.

By the way, it was composed by Katsuya Yamada, who has worked on numerous commercial songs.

NTT Docomo iPhone 14 and Docomo Youth Discount: ‘Unwavering Youth’ Edition

NTT docomo iPhone 14 Commercial: 'Unshakable Youth' 30-Second Version

A song by Hitsujibungaku that stays close to the anxieties in your heart and rouses the courage to move forward.

The emotionally explosive vocals layered over a straightforward band sound are striking, conveying a desperate determination like feeling your way to find a path.

It’s used in NTT Docomo’s iPhone 14 commercial, the Docomo Seishun Discount “Unwavering Youth” edition, and its energetic, youthful sound fits the ad’s mood perfectly.

The song delivers a powerful message to those sprinting through their youth: believe in yourself and keep moving forward.

Apple iPhone 14: “A battery that lasts all day”

Apple iPhone 14 Commercial: “All‑day battery life” – 30 seconds

You’ve probably seen staff in town holding signs that say “Model House Open.” This iPhone commercial follows a day in the life of exactly that kind of staff member.

While guiding customers, they kill time on their iPhone during the slow moments.

It shows that the battery, which was at 98% upon arrival, still has 35% left at the end of the day—highlighting its long battery life.

The background rap track is “Bell” by Campanella and GuruConnect.

The cool, stylish rap laid over a sleek beat is a must-listen.

Apple iPhone 14 “Goodbye, Leon”

A man panics when his pet chameleon stops moving and texts his partner to report it.

But right after sending the message, the chameleon starts moving again.

The man then unsends the message he just sent.

It’s a commercial highlighting that the iPhone Messages app lets you undo a sent message.

The background music is Hanni El Khatib’s “ALIVE,” a laid-back yet groovy track that becomes addictive after just one listen.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro “Shot on iPhone 14 Pro: NewJeans ‘ETA’”

This commercial highlights the iPhone 14 Pro’s shake-free video capability, but many people are surely also captivated by the dancers and can’t get the catchy song out of their heads! “ETA,” included on the second EP Get Up by NewJeans—the five-member Korean girl group who also appear in the ad—is a danceable track that showcases their melodic rap and hip-hop choreography, both of which deserve attention.

Be sure to check out the music video as well, which, like the commercial, was shot entirely on an iPhone 14 Pro.

au iPhone 13 Pro / iPhone 13 Pro Max ‘Santaro Series: New Kibidango’ Edition

au iPhone 13 | 13 Pro Commercial: “The New Kibi Dango” 30 seconds

The song used in au’s iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max “Santaro Series: New Kibi Dango” was created by Katsuya Yamada, one of Japan’s leading commercial producers.

The melody evokes Japanese new music from the 1960s–1970s, and it matches perfectly with the unique atmosphere created by the trio of Momotaro, Kintaro, and Urashima Taro.
