Fantasy in C major, D 760 “Wanderer Fantasy”Franz Schubert

This is a piano solo work published in 1822.
Although it consists of four movements, it is performed without a break.
It can be described as a freely structured sonata.
The nickname “Wanderer” comes from the fact that the theme of the variations in the second movement is taken from the composer’s own song “Der Wanderer.” It is a work that demands transcendental virtuosity.
The performance is by Evgeny Kissin, an Israeli pianist born in Moscow in 1971.
Ave MariaFranz Schubert

This song is extremely famous for its pure, beautiful melody, but the fact that the title “Ave Maria” has taken on a life of its own is actually a misunderstanding.
The real title is “Ellen’s Song No.
3.” The original lyrics come from Walter Scott’s poem The Lady of the Lake, in which Ellen, the lady of the lake, prays to the Virgin Mary for help.
Piano Sonata No. 16 in A minor, D 845Franz Schubert

Composed around 1825 when Schubert was 28, and published in 1826.
This was the first of Schubert’s piano sonatas to be published.
In the manga Nodame Cantabile, the protagonist Nodame performs it as a competition piece.
It has been popular since its time and can be said to have established Schubert’s reputation as a composer of sonatas.
In conclusion
We introduced famous works by Franz Schubert, the king of song.
Although Schubert had a short life, he composed numerous lieder represented by pieces such as Erlkönig and Die Forelle, and also left over a thousand outstanding works across chamber music, symphonies, and solo piano pieces.
In particular, his late piano sonatas move from a classical style to one imbued with Romantic character, and his works influenced many later classical composers, including Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and Richard Strauss.
I would be delighted if you continue to listen to and cherish Schubert’s music, which remains highly esteemed by musicians today.
