Haagen-Dazs “MOON ON THE SPOON”

In the Häagen-Dazs commercial “MOON ON THE SPOON,” Ayami Nakajo—who has appeared in previous ads—shows up in animated form.
Character design was handled by animator Hitomi Kariya, known for creating the opening animation for the NHK morning drama series Natsuzora.
When a spoon taps the still-firm Häagen-Dazs just taken out of the freezer, a beautiful moon shining in the night sky appears reflected on it.
As she gazes at the moon with her beloved cat, the Häagen-Dazs reaches the perfect softness! Upon tasting it, she’s so enchanted by the deliciousness that she breaks into a joyful dance.
The narration for the commercial is also performed by Ayami Nakajo.
Z-kai “Crossroad”

The Z-kai commercial “Cross Road” was directed by Makoto Shinkai, known for Your Name and Weathering With You.
Produced as a short animated film, the commercial’s quality could easily make you mistake it for Shinkai’s latest feature.
Character design and animation direction were handled by Masayoshi Tanaka, who also did the character designs for the anime Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day.
The story portrays a boy and a girl, living in completely different places and preparing for university entrance exams, who each study with Z-kai and later meet at the same university—an encounter that feels like destiny.
It’s the kind of commercial that makes you think, “I want to see a full-length feature, not just a short!”
Daido Life: ‘Asako Hirooka – The Catalyst’ Edition

The commercial “Asako Hirooka: The ‘Turning Point’,” featuring Asako Hirooka—one of the founders of Daido Life and the subject of the NHK morning drama Asadora “Asa ga Kita”—highlights her story.
After a serious illness prompted her to conceive of life insurance, Hirooka champions its importance and goes on to establish Daido Life.
It is said that her actions have been carried forward into later generations.
The animation for the commercial was produced by Nippon Animation, known for works such as “A Dog of Flanders,” “Chibi Maruko-chan,” and “Love All Play.”
Yamagata Nissan Group: “We love Yamagata, we love cars.”

A star-studded team who worked on titles like Your Name, Jujutsu Kaisen, and the Pretty Cure series participated in creating Yamagata Nissan Group’s commercial, “I Love Yamagata, I Love Cars.” The ad portrays various memories of the protagonist, Hikari, centered around cars: the Hanagasa Festival she was taken to by car as a child, Ginzan Onsen she visited with friends after getting her license, and more.
Now, having made so many memories with cars, Hikari finds herself on the other side—selling them.
It’s a commercial that depicts the life of a woman who sells the cars she loves in the hometown she loves: Yamagata.
Aida Sekkei “Anime Eye” version

The AIDASEKKEI commercial “Anime Ai” depicts someone looking at childhood photos and recalling various memories from their family home.
The director is Satoshi Kosaka, and character design and chief animation direction were handled by Mari Tominaga—both have worked as directors and designers on various anime.
The ad portrays many memories that unfolded at home: playing a lot as a child, studying hard, and a boyfriend coming over to greet the family.
It concludes by highlighting the future, where the protagonist, now with a family of their own, will create new memories in a new home.
AC Japan ‘Papa of Bakabon’s Proposal’ Version

Papa from Bakabon appears and recommends getting a fundus (retinal) examination.
