Suntory Drink Smile “Taxi Tales We Can All Relate To” / “Scary Stories from a Taxi”Kozo Sato, An Asahina

This is a commercial by Suntory aimed at encouraging people to drink alcohol safely and responsibly.
The ad unfolds like a ghost story told by a taxi driver.
When he follows the address given by a female passenger, it leads deep into the mountains.
Bracing himself for a horror twist, the driver glances back at the rear seat… Only to hear the woman, finally sobering up, murmur, “Huh? Where are we?” The punchline reveals there’s no horror at all—she was just drunk and gave a strange, incorrect address.
At the end of the commercial, there’s a reminder to drink water when consuming alcohol to avoid ending up in situations like this.
It’s a cleverly humorous ad that makes you want to watch it over and over.
Toyo Suisan Maruchan Akai Kitsune and Midori no Tanuki “Now? A Giant Octopus” VersionTetsuya Takeda, Gaku Hamada

Tetsuya Takeda, who has served as the commercial’s spokesperson since the launch of Red Kitsune and Green Tanuki, and Gaku Hamada, who appears for the first time this time.
In a tense situation where they’re attacked by a giant octopus underwater, the two exchange a mismatched conversation: “Fox or Tanuki?” “It’s an octopus.” “No, I’m asking whether you want Red Kitsune or Green Tanuki!” “Do we have to do this now!?” You can’t help but laugh.
At the end of the commercial, they safely escape the octopus and eat Red Kitsune and Green Tanuki on the boat.
UQ mobile UQUEEN “Sound Effects” VersionHikari Mitsushima, Ryuhei Matsuda

This is a comical TV commercial that considers which sound effect would be best to highlight UQ’s great value.
In a setup where a butler layers sound effects over UQUEEN as she announces the prices, they try various patterns to find the perfect fit.
While it’s important to convey the appeal, the ad also playfully questions whether sound effects are even necessary in the first place, enhancing the comedic tone.

UQ mobile UQUEEN ‘Horse’ VersionHikari Mitsushima, Ryuhei Matsuda

This is a commercial that showcases UQ’s appeal through interactions between Hikari Mitsushima as UQUEEN and her butler, played by Ryuhei Matsuda.
In this scene, she demands that the butler travel around the country on horseback.
The butler’s expression, accepting the request without any surprise, clearly conveys a comedic tone.
Details like the design on the horse’s saddle also help highlight UQ’s attractive features.
Toyo Suisan Maruchan Akai Kitsune and Midori no Tanuki “Delicious School Lunch / Cooking Practicum” VersionHayato Ichihara

Hayato Ichihara appears as a home economics teacher, and the scene shows him conducting a cooking class.
In a surprising twist, he changes the menu to Midori no Tanuki just because “he wants to eat it.” That alone is already amusing, but then he spots a student adding the tempura topping at the end, and his astonishment at the idea makes it even funnier.
Toyo Suisan Maruchan “Akai Kitsune, Midori no Tanuki: Year-End Gathering” VersionTetsuya Takeda, Akihiro Kakuta (Tokyo 03), Hiroaki Ogi (OgiYahagi)

This commercial features Tetsuya Takeda, Hiroaki Ogi, and Akihiro Kakuta, introducing not only New Year’s soba but also recommending New Year’s udon.
However, the ad opens with a striking line from Ogi: “Why Kakuta?” When Kakuta responds, “Why are you saying that out of nowhere?” Ogi says he wants to see his partner YAHAGI for New Year’s: “I’d like to see Yahagi on New Year’s.” Riding that flow of conversation, Kakuta passionately argues, “Soba is the standard for New Year’s, but udon works too.
By the same logic, a New Year’s Kakuta works, right?” But his plea falls flat—Takeda joins Ogi in saying, “I want to see Yahagi.” The result is a commercial that makes you laugh at the perfectly synced banter between Ogi and Takeda, even as you can’t help but feel sorry for Kakuta, who’s treated so offhandedly throughout.
Toyo Suisan Maruchan “Red Kitsune, Green Tanuki” — ‘Red Kitsune Defense Operation’ versionTetsuya Takeda, Kumiko Aso, Jiro (Shisonnu)

This commercial shows Kumiko Aso finding a pack of Akai Kitsune in her home cupboard and trying to eat it.
When she reaches for it, a laser sensor is triggered, sending an alert to her husband Jiro, who’s out playing golf, and her father, Tetsuya Takeda.
The two rush home, but Aso has already eaten the Akai Kitsune.
Jiro shouting, “That’s mine!” is a bit pitiful, but the over-the-top setup and direction are hilarious.
