Funny commercials [June 2025] (1–10)
Suntory -196 “The Secret to a Deliciousness You Can’t Recreate on a Cooking Show”NEW!Aya Ueto, Ryo Nishikido

This is a commercial that humorously portrays a cooking show introducing how to make -196.
When Ryo Nishikido tries to cut a lemon, a big X sign pops up.
Aya Ueto explains that cutting or heating fruit actually diminishes its deliciousness.
Instead, she introduces -196, which locks in the flavor by flash-freezing at -196 degrees.
Hearing this, Nishikido quips calmly, “Then we can’t make it here, can we?” To which Ueto responds with a crisp, “Exactly!” Their exchange is sure to make you laugh.
Suntory Jim Beam “JIM Highball × Gurunai” VersionNEW!Shintaro Moriyama, Seiya

This is a commercial that evokes a TV show concept in which Seiya and Moriyama, each holding a Jim Beam highball, try to guess the prices of dishes.
The setup has Moriyama delivering a punchline when Seiya guesses an overly high price, adding a comical touch—especially given that they’re in an izakaya.
Even though there are supposed to be two of them, the flow where Seiya talks one-sidedly also helps convey a fun, lively atmosphere.
Nissin Foods Frozen Nissin Chinese La Jiao Tantanmen “The sesame might be rich, you know” versionNEW!Razor Ramon RG

This is a commercial introducing Nissin Chuka Spicy Tantanmen, a frozen meal you can eat just by sprinkling with water and heating it in the microwave.
In a retro music-show-style set, Razor Ramon RG passionately sings a parody of KAN’s ‘Ai wa Katsu.’ Between verses, a narrator explains how to prepare it and describes its flavors, but RG himself only sings, “The sesame might be rich.” The gag unfolds like his signature bit where he keeps singing, “I wanna say the relatable thing already,” and it’s sure to make you chuckle.

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Calorie Mate Jelly “Chuu-shita (Kissed)” VersionNEW!Yuuichi Nakamura

This is one of the series of commercials that depict CalorieMate as a character called a “little nutritionist.” This time, the story unfolds with CalorieMate getting jealous of CalorieMate Jelly.
Watching a woman sip jelly from a pouch, it panics and cries out, “She kissed it!”—which is just so adorable, isn’t it? And at the end of the commercial, the man sitting next to the woman eats it, closing on a humorous punchline with its lament, “Why meee?”
Toyo Suisan Maruchan Akai Kitsune Midori no Tanuki “Spring Mountain Climb” VersionNEW!Tetsuya Takeda, Moka Kamishiraishi

This commercial depicts Tetsuya Takeda and Moka Kamishiraishi mountain climbing, highlighting how Akai Kitsune and Midori no Tanuki are a perfect fit even for outdoor scenes like these.
Because the flavors are presented alongside the sweeping vistas, the sense of excitement about the taste comes through strongly.
It’s humorous that while Kamishiraishi starts eating deliciously, Takeda doesn’t begin—only to reveal he was actually just catching his breath.
Watanabe Pipe “Susume” Version / “On the Front Lines of the Worksite” VersionAudrey

Audrey’s two members appear in the Watanabe Pipe commercial, and in a nod to the company name, Kasuga plays the bagpipes.
In addition to the striking setup where the company name is repeated to the melody of “When the Saints Go Marching In,” the ad closes with a one-liner from Kasuga followed by Wakabayashi’s sharp comeback, which provides a good laugh.
The background music, “When the Saints Go Marching In,” is a song long cherished as an African American spiritual and is now also popular as a sports anthem.
Coca-Cola Karada Sukoyaka-cha W+ “A Sweet and Bittersweet Relationship” VersionRyuji Akiyama

He’s worried about his health but just can’t quit because it tastes so good… As this highly relatable feeling is portrayed, Ryuji Akiyama is about to dig into a tempura bowl.
Then, from the cafeteria TV comes a narration: “I know I should stop, but I can’t—this delicious yet bittersweet relationship…” The footage looks like an ’80s trendy drama, and it turns out the line is describing the relationship between fat and sugar.
Through this unexpected twist, the ad introduces Karada Sukoyaka-cha W+, which helps suppress the absorption of fat and sugar.
The subtly awkward vibe when the man and woman playing Fat and Sugar appear together with Akiyama creates a surreal kind of humor.
