Nippon Ham: Oden Ingredients for Meat Lovers — “Meat-and-Mochi Gyoza” Version / “Quail Egg Meatball” Version

In this commercial introducing oden ingredients made with meat, the story is presented in the style of an audition.
The two items featured this time are meat-mochi gyoza and quail meatballs.
It’s striking how they withstand tough questions and comments from the three judges—a mother, son, and daughter—and ultimately win their approval.
Although the portrayal is very passionate, the fact that it’s actually an audition for oden ingredients adds a touch of humor.
SMBC Mobit “Showa Fandom Activities” VersionNaoto Takenaka, Fuka Koshiba

This is a funny commercial that introduces the appeal of SMBC Mobit’s cash advances and card loans through a Showa-era themed story.
Naoto Takenaka plays the father, and Fuka Koshiba plays the daughter—and on top of that, Takenaka also plays the singer that Koshiba’s character is a fan of.
The ad highlights that with SMBC Mobit there are no phone calls during the screening process, and that you can use and earn V Points.
The whole thing unfolds with a sense of humor from start to finish, so be sure to watch it all the way through.

Nissin Foods Frozen Nissin Chinese Sauce-Free Dandan Noodles ‘Japan’s Best-Selling’ VersionHiroya Yamazaki

This is a commercial introducing a soupless dandan noodles product that you can enjoy just by heating it in a microwave—a big part of its appeal is how easy it is.
The ad features a close-up of Hiroya Yamazaki’s face, highlighting the product’s charm and its strong sales.
Yamazaki’s indescribable expression is surreal and really memorable, isn’t it? The song playing in the background is actually a parody of the theme song from the 1997 anime “Class King Yamazaki.” For men from the early Heisei era (single-digit years), it’s probably a nostalgic tune, don’t you think?
Kyoto Bank “Birthday Cake” Edition

Here’s a TV commercial from Kyoto Bank, known for its catchphrase “A loooong relationship.” In this “Birthday Cake” version, we see a lively grandpa at his birthday party blow out, in one go and to the cheers of his children and grandchildren, the many candles set on an extra-long birthday cake.
You can really feel the family love.
Even so, his lung capacity is astonishing—when we counted the candles, there were over 80 of them.
Kyoto Bank “Daikon” Version

Among Kyoto Bank’s commercials, this is likely one that many people find especially memorable.
It features a scene of harvesting daikon radishes in a field, but the radishes are so long that they’re hard to pull out.
It’s one entry in a series of ads expressing the bank’s catchphrase, “A lo-o-ong relationship,” and it’s brimming with playful, impactful charm.
Nichirei Foods NICHIREPO “Restaurant-Style Karaage” Edition / “Restaurant-Style Fried Rice” Edition / “Dining Out of the Future” EditionMaple Chogokin

This commercial promotes Nichirei’s high quality by showing the comedy duo Maple Chogokin covering the company.
The twist that some shops use Nichirei’s fried chicken and fried rice conveys a quality so high it could be mistaken for restaurant-made.
The footage of a robot cooking fried rice also suggests advanced technology behind the products.
With Kazlaser calmly continuing the interview while Natsu Ando reacts dramatically, the contrast delivers the appeal in a humorous way.
Lottery Lotto 7: The Boyfriend, the Girlfriend, and the 12-Billion-Yen Man Episode 21 “Proposal” / Episode 22 “Their Wedding”Ryunosuke Kamiki, Mone Kamishiraishi, Koji Yamamoto

This is a series that unfolds like a drama, depicting Ryunosuke Kamiki and Mone Kamishiraishi being thrown into turmoil by the “12-billion yen man” played by Koji Yamamoto.
This installment focuses on life’s turning points—like proposals and weddings—and how the lottery plays a role in them.
The sequence where the 12-billion yen man stares at us and pulls a lottery ticket from his chest, followed by Kamiki’s bewilderment as he’s tossed around by it, is quite comical, isn’t it?
