Sapporo Senshuan Yamano Oyaji

Sapporo Senshuan Yama-Oyaji Commercial (Old)

Sapporo Senshuan Confectionery, headquartered in Sapporo, Hokkaido, is a confectionery manufacturer founded in 1921.

Its commercial for “Yama-Oyaji,” a butter-and-milk senbei sold since 1930, is one of Hokkaido’s iconic local TV ads.

The product name comes from the old term “Yama-oyaji,” which referred to bears that strutted about the mountains and fields as if they owned them, and a bear is featured on the senbei design.

The bear design—wearing skis and carrying a salmon—that also appears in the commercial helped raise the company’s profile along with the product itself.

Sapporo Classic “Local Friends” Version – 30 seconds

In the Hokkaido-exclusive beer Sapporo Classic commercial, the duo Taka and Toshi, who are from Hokkaido, make an appearance.

This installment is titled “Hometown Friends,” and shows them reminiscing with their local friends, Sapporo Classic in hand.

The direction, which spotlights the land of Hokkaido, is particularly appealing.

The gentle background music is an original song created for the commercial, titled “Let’s Drink Here.” It’s sung by Taka and Toshi, and their unpretentious, down-to-earth vocals add an extra touch of warmth.

Chugoku Electric Power: “What’s DR?” edition.Chidori, Honoka Matsumoto

This commercial promotes the fact that Chugoku Electric Power is also working on demand response—a new way of using electricity that’s friendly to both the planet and household budgets.

Through lively banter between the comedy duo Chidori and Honoka Matsumoto, it conveys how small changes in how we use electricity can be kinder to the Earth.

Featuring Chidori dressed as vampires tackling household chores, it adds a comedic touch as well.

Chugoku Electric Power: ‘Daigo Working Hard to Save Money’ EditionChidori, Honoka Matsumoto

This commercial introduces “Gutto Zutto Club,” Chugoku Electric Power’s members-only website recommended for people who work hard at saving money every day.

It starts with a comedic scene of Daigo waiting for a discount sticker to be put on, and creates a lively mood with Nobu’s witty retorts and Daigo’s frustration when someone grabs a product before he can.

The ad then explains what Gutto Zutto Club offers and clearly, enjoyably shows how it can lead to savings.

Fujitrans “What is a love you won’t compromise on?” versionRAN

Fujitrans CM 'What Is the Passion You Won’t Compromise?' 30 Seconds

A commercial for the Fujitrans Group, a comprehensive logistics company based in Aichi Prefecture.

It portrays the people who work there and the feelings of “love” they have for what they do.

It conveys, with a refreshing touch that overlaps with Ran’s performance, the idea that it’s precisely because they love their teammates and their work that they can achieve greater results.

Since the ad airs only in the limited regions of Aichi, Gifu, and Mie, you can also feel the affection for the local community.

The song that firmly highlights the warmth of the visuals and their breezy atmosphere is Ran’s “Yokan” (Premonition).

A gentle band sound centered on acoustic guitar blends with her vocals, evoking a sense of hope that looks toward the future.

Miyahide Dolls, 2018

Miyahide 2018 Boys’ Festival Dolls TV Commercial

This is a commercial focusing on the 2018 Boys’ Festival dolls from Ningyo no Miyahide, a doll shop with one of the largest selections in the prefecture, centered on Hina dolls and Boys’ Festival dolls.

Through an animation depicting small children and featuring Boys’ Festival dolls, it conveys the importance of Children’s Day.

The song synchronized with the animation is also a highlight, expressing a wish for children to grow up surrounded by their family’s love.

By portraying the characters’ smiles alongside the strength of the Boys’ Festival dolls, the commercial evokes the excitement of Children’s Day drawing near.

Hidakaya

This is Hidaka-ya’s first commercial.

Hidakaya is headquartered in Omiya Ward, Saitama City, and is well-loved as an easygoing Chinese eatery, mainly in the Kanto region.

This is their very first commercial, in which they talk about the stance they aim to take as a Chinese restaurant chain.

Alongside staples of casual dining like hamburgers and gyudon, they want to become a familiar presence.

They express that aspiration together with the idea of delivering a “go-to flavor” to make it a reality.

The visuals convey a strong passion befitting the words emblazoned on their sign—“Fervent Chinese Diner.”
