Toyo Suisan Maruchan Akai Kitsune Midori no Tanuki ‘New Year’s Eve Question’ VersionTetsuya Takeda, um...

It’s a commercial where Tetsuya Takeda declares, “For New Year’s, it’s got to be Midori no Tanuki!” and Ano-san innocently asks, “Why is that?” She goes on to check if the reason is the taste: “Because the tempura’s fluffy?” “Because it’s super shrimpy?” “Because the broth is so rich?” But in the end she cuts to the heart of it with, “Doesn’t that have nothing to do with New Year’s?” and Takeda-san can’t help but admit, “You’re right, it doesn’t.” The idea that soba is the New Year’s staple is humorously portrayed, and before you know it, you’ll find yourself reaching for a Midori no Tanuki.
Toyo Suisan Maruchan “Red Kitsune, Green Tanuki” – Autumn Camping EditionTetsuya Takeda, Hiroshi

Here’s a commercial showing people eating “Akai Kitsune” while camping.
The familiar Tetsuya Takeda appears, along with the go-to name for camping in the entertainment world, Hiroshi.
As the two of them eat Akai Kitsune made with water boiled over a campfire, Takeda tells Hiroshi the secret behind its delicious taste.
However, Hiroshi single-mindedly keeps eating.
In the end, he boldly tells his senior, “Oh, I wasn’t listening.” Rather than getting angry, Takeda repeats the same line.
It’s a commercial that makes you feel a bit sorry for Takeda, yet find him utterly endearing.

This is a commercial showing Tetsuya Takeda climbing a mountain with Moka Kamishiraishi and eating Akai Kitsune and Midori no Tanuki at the summit.
Kamishiraishi takes a deep, refreshing breath at the top and, saying “The moment you’ve been waiting for—,” she pulls Akai Kitsune and Midori no Tanuki out of her backpack.
Takeda, on the other hand, tries to keep his cool in front of her, but when she’s not looking he’s clearly out of breath and really struggling.
From the middle of the ad, you see Kamishiraishi eating deliciously while Takeda does his best to steady his breathing and keep eating without getting caught.
It’s a charming and funny commercial that highlights Takeda’s bravado.
Kyoto Bank “Birthday Cake” Edition

Here’s a TV commercial from Kyoto Bank, known for its catchphrase “A loooong relationship.” In this “Birthday Cake” version, we see a lively grandpa at his birthday party blow out, in one go and to the cheers of his children and grandchildren, the many candles set on an extra-long birthday cake.
You can really feel the family love.
Even so, his lung capacity is astonishing—when we counted the candles, there were over 80 of them.
The Kyoto Bank Senryu Theater, Episode 2: “Our Cat”

It opens with a scene of a man drinking milk straight from the carton instead of pouring it into a glass, while a cat gazes at him.
The senryu featured in the commercial suggests that if the cat could talk, it would definitely tattle on him.
The man’s cheeky act of secretly drinking from the carton and getting caught by the cat is not only hilarious, but the cat’s earnest witnessing is adorable too—making it a commercial you’ll want to watch again and again.
