The iPhone, Apple’s smartphone, is the model that sparked the spread of smartphones in Japan.

Known for its sleek design, functionality, and intuitive UI, it still accounts for a large share of the domestic smartphone market today.

Many of them highlight its advanced features and the device’s durability, and they’re also characterized by stylish visual production.

We’ll also touch on the BGM, known for its high-sense song selections, so if a track catches your ear, be sure to give it a careful listen.

Let’s dive right in!

iPhone commercial roundup: Stylish visuals and background music are the draw (71–80).

Apple iPhone X

A collaboration by Sofi Tukker and Alisa Ueno, The Knocks, and NERVO.

Released in 2017, it reached No.

98 on the French charts.

The track was used in an iPhone X commercial and in the soccer video game FIFA 18.

au ‘Crane Swipe’ Edition

Santaro version of “The Grateful Crane”: Uracchan and Kinchan are shocked by the shadow on the shoji! KDDI new commercial for iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12, “Crane Swipe”

Hearing the piano’s dispersed chords sprinkled through a dreamlike soundscape and that exceedingly famous main phrase, most people would likely feel, even without knowing the title or the composer’s name, that they’ve heard it somewhere before.

The classical piece used in the November 2020 au commercial “Crane’s Swipe,” featuring the familiar Santaro trio, is “Aquarium,” the seventh movement of The Carnival of the Animals by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns.

It’s a suite whose character seems to embody Saint-Saëns’s personality—musically gifted enough to be called a genius, yet known for his caustic wit—so I recommend listening to it with that musical background in mind!

Apple iPhone XS “Illusion”

iPhone XS – Illusion – Apple

In the iPhone XS commercial released in September 2018, a song called “Nothing Burns Like the Cold” by the singer Snoh Aalegra was featured.

Many people were likely captivated by its languid, hazy vibe.

The scratch sounds often used in hip-hop pair nicely with the brass sounds common in EDM and similar genres.

Apple iPhone 14 “Action mode” edition

Apple iPhone 14 Commercial: “Action Mode” 30-Second Version

“Get Out My Way feat.

Lecrae” by American hip-hop artist Tedashii.

This track was used in an iPhone 14 commercial featuring the Action mode image stabilization.

In the ad, a boy’s race is filmed on an iPhone, highlighted with dynamic camera angles! The groovy sound of “Get Out My Way feat.

Lecrae” fits the scene perfectly, creating a vibe that matches Apple’s sophisticated image.

docomo iPhone eximo “Our Kid” versionSatomi Ishihara

Satomi Ishihara Appears / NTT Docomo New Commercial: iPhone 'Our Child' Version (30 seconds)

In NTT Docomo’s iPhone 15 commercial, Satomi Ishihara and Hana Kuroki are shown using iPhones to take photos of each other’s pet dogs.

The way they get completely absorbed in the shoot looks so fun.

The CM uses The Blues Brothers’ “Can’t Turn You Loose” as the BGM.

The song was originally released by Otis Redding in 1965, and it’s also well known as the theme music for Fuji TV’s show “Monomane Oza Ketteisen” (Imitation King Championship).

I bet many people have heard it somewhere before, don’t you think?
