JR East ‘History of Transformation’ Version 30 Seconds
“My Way,” featured in JR East’s 2018 commercial “History of Transformation,” is a version arranged by NOT WONK, a rock band from Hokkaido, of Frank Sinatra’s signature song.
Departing from the original’s relaxed, majestic feel, this take is crafted with a stylish, cool, urban vibe.
Its refreshing sound, brimming with excitement and a sense of speed, is sure to make you think, “All right, let’s head out now!”
JR East JR SKISKI White and Heat. “Boys” Version / “Girls” VersionYuzu Aoki, Natsuki Deguchi
This is the 2025 version of JR East’s annual ski trip campaign, JR SKISKI.
This time, Yuzu Aoki and Natsuki Deguchi appear, and the ad shows them enjoying their first time snowboarding.
Most of the scenes feature the group having fun together, but there’s a fleeting moment when Aoki and Deguchi lock eyes that really makes your heart skip a beat.
The BGM is “you’re my” by the three-piece band Pablo Haiku, an upbeat, refreshing track written specifically for this commercial.
JR East JR SKI SKI 2013-2014
JR East’s classic winter commercial “JR SKISKI,” aired as part of its ski trip campaign.
The song used in the 2013–2014 version is SEKAI NO OWARI’s “Snow Magic Fantasy.” Appearing in the commercial are Haruna Kawaguchi and Shuntaro Yanagi.
The sparkling melody, which seems to capture the excitement you feel when it starts to snow, leaves a strong impression! To highlight the pop melody, they processed classical instruments, resulting in a majestic arrangement.
Just like their earlier release “RPG,” it has a fun vibe that makes you feel as if you’re inside an amusement park or a toy box!
JR East “JR SKISKI” 2013
This song was created as the CM song for JR East’s 2013 “JR SKISKI” campaign.
Incorporating processed sounds of instruments used in classical music, the track has a more pop-oriented finish than SEKAI NO OWARI’s usual sound, and the music video follows suit with a pop vibe.
Directed by Jun Tamukai, who also worked on “RPG,” the MV is even more pop than SEKAI NO OWARI’s usual style.
JR East JR SKI SKI “Winter Fireworks” Version
This commercial portrays a heart-fluttering exchange between a man and a woman.
The fireworks rising into the winter sky are so dramatic, aren’t they? The song used for the CM is “Snow Magic Fantasy” by SEKAI NO OWARI.
It’s a track that depicts a bittersweet winter romance, but its sound and melody are so cute that it perfectly matches the ad’s portrayal of two people at the beginning of something new.
Listening to it together with the CM makes you think, “I want a romance like that!”
