551 Horai 2025 CommercialNarumi

551 HORAI Pork Bun Commercial 2025

This is the 2025 version of the popular commercial featuring the well-known Kansai phrase, “When you have 551, and when you don’t.” It’s a highly impactful ad that shifts suddenly from a cozy family gathering scene to the interior of a spaceship.

Itami Sangyo Co., Ltd.

Itami Sangyo Co., Ltd. [Itami Rice TV Commercial]

The Itami Sangyo commercials are often heard not only on TV but also on the radio.

Many people in the Kansai region will recognize the sound logo “Ii ne, ii ne, Itami mai” and the phrase “Itami Sangyō-jin.” By the way, many may not know that Itami Sangyo also handles infrastructure like electricity and gas.

It’s a company engaged in a wide range of businesses, including the sale of electricity, gas, and rice.

Asahi Cosmetic Surgery

Asahi Cosmetic Surgery commercial

For people living in the Kansai area, this is probably one of those commercials you can’t help but want to sing along to—right up there with “Kansai Denki Hōan Kyōkai” and “Piano uttetchōdai.” It’s the ad for Asahi Cosmetic Surgery, a cosmetic surgery clinic with locations in Osaka, Nara, Wakayama, and elsewhere.

It’s that song you end up memorizing without even trying.

And while the tune is the same, the visuals people recall may differ—some remember the animated version, others the one featuring the clinic director.

By the way, depending on the era, the vibe of the song stays the same, but the melody is slightly different.

Kawasaki Clinic

Kawasaki Clinic Commercial — Esthetics Edition

Kawasaki Clinic opened in 1990 as a cosmetic surgery clinic in Nara Prefecture.

Its catchy, upbeat commercial jingle—where the name “Kawasaki Clinic” is sung repeatedly—really sticks with you.

Anyone from the Kansai region has probably heard it.

There are several versions of the commercial: one where members of the public and clinic staff take turns singing a phrase in a relay, and another that uses a jingle arranged in the style of a superhero squad show.

Nara Dreamland

Nara Dreamland TV commercial: Wooden coaster ASKA after opening

Nara Dreamland opened in 1961 and was loved as the prefecture’s signature amusement park until it closed in 2006.

This is a commercial introducing ASKA, the wooden coaster that symbolizes Nara Dreamland.

The presenters are members of Seikima-II, who powerfully urge viewers to be among the first to experience the Kansai region’s inaugural wooden coaster.

The twist where the demons are astonished by the coaster’s movements also heightens anticipation for the ride.

ABC Housing

ABC Housing Commercial 2005/05

This commercial perfectly matches a genuine country-style jingle with a nostalgic anime vibe.

If you look closely, you’ll notice an unusual, eye-catching scene: taking a cat for a walk on a leash.

In another version of the ad, the CM song was written and composed by Susumu Sugawara of Billy BanBan, showing ABC Housing’s dedication to its background music.

The exceptionally peaceful country music and the cute art style are truly soothing!

Super Tamade

Super Tamade commercial 2016

The commercial for Super Tamade, Osaka’s famed ultra-cheap store known to those in the know, perfectly captures that Kansai-local vibe.

It’s basically a neighborhood supermarket that people outside the Kansai area wouldn’t normally know about, but thanks to the ad featuring a man in eye-popping, bright yellow suit jacket and pants who relentlessly repeats the store’s name, its recognition has skyrocketed.

Just by watching the footage you can pick up the key info—rock-bottom prices, open 24 hours—and above all, the sheer boldness and cheerful energy that drill the store’s name into your memory are truly impressive!
