[Kansai Region Local] Compilation of Local Commercials Aired in Kansai (121–130)

Midori Denka

Midori Denka commercial 2007

Midori Denka was a consumer electronics retailer that once operated mainly in the Kansai region.

After a management integration, its stores gradually transitioned into Edion locations.

Among Midori Denka’s commercials, the most memorable were the ones featuring its image character, Midori-chan.

Her catchphrase was “I’ll give it a try,” which conveyed a proactive attitude aligned with meeting customers’ needs.

Another notable point was her singing—not exactly skillful, but striking nonetheless.

It gave the impression that the brand emphasized straightforward sincerity, even to the point of being a little rough around the edges.

Kyobashi Grand Chateau

Kyobashi Grand Chateau Commercial ①

The Kyobashi Grand Chateau Building offers all kinds of leisure activities, from saunas and baths to karaoke.

When it comes to its commercials, the catchy jingle in full-on Osaka dialect—so quintessentially “THE Osaka”—really leaves an impression.

The lyrics themselves are simple: there’s a place called Grand Chateau in Kyobashi, so please come visit.

But because it’s sung in thick Osaka dialect, it sticks in your head! The commercials come in all sorts of styles too—some with story-like plots, others like comedy sketches—keeping you endlessly entertained.

Electrical Materials Buyback Center “Jump” Edition

The Electrical Materials Buyback Center TV commercial “Jump Edition” is now airing on TV Osaka (terrestrial channel 7)!

This is the commercial for the Electrical Materials Buying Center, “Jump,” which operates mainly in the Kansai region.

In this version, two women jump while conveying the shop’s appeal.

The atmosphere is so fun that watching it makes you want to visit.

Hirakata Park

[V6 / Hirakata Park] A compilation of Junichi Okada’s “Super Hirapa Brother” commercials!!

These days, V6’s Junichi Okada appears as “Hirapa Brother” and “Super Director,” making Hirakata Park and its commercials famous nationwide.

Lately, whenever a new Hirapa Brother commercial is announced, it becomes a hot topic and makes the online news.

Hirakata Park has long run funny, Kansai-style commercials that locals tend to love, but many people probably still have a strong image of its chrysanthemum doll displays.

Around the time Black Mayonnaise’s Kosugi became the Hirapa Brother, the commercials’ humor started gaining attention among younger people too.

[Kansai-area Local] Compilation of Local Commercials Aired in Kansai (131–140)

World Farm: “Animals All Together!” Edition

World Ranch: All the Animals Gather! 30-second Version

World Ranch, located in Minamikawachi District, Osaka Prefecture, is a theme park where the big draw is getting up close with lots of animals, and the commercial really showcases that appeal by featuring many different creatures.

In the “All the Animals Gather” version, animals appear one after another in a lively rhythm along with their calls, making it a spot that’s likely to be popular with kids.

The use of Kansai dialect—like gyōsan meaning “a lot” and irote na meaning “go ahead and touch”—also adds a friendly, local-commercial feel.

Joshin Denki

NMB48 Joshin TV commercial “Don’t Lose Your Passion” music video (with lyrics)

The TV commercials for Joshin, an electronics retail chain that operates nationwide with a focus on the Kansai region, are surely familiar to people from Kansai.

The catchy jingle that goes “Jo, Jo, Jo, Joshin” is by the Wakayama-based band WINDS and is based on their song “Don’t Lose Your Passion.” With a vibe reminiscent of the J-pop scene of the 1990s, it’s the kind of tune that makes you want to hum along.

The appearances by Hanshin Tigers players and NMB48 members also give it that local-commercial charm that really wins you over!

Koyo-kaku of Arima Hyoe

Arima Onsen Hyoe Koyokaku TV commercial 2010 <AKB48 version> 30 sec

Hyoe Koyokaku is a long-established hot spring inn in Arima, a town famed for its onsen.

When it comes to their commercials, you can’t help but have that catchy jingle—rhythmically singing the name “Koyokaku”—stuck in your head! The composer is Taro Kida, known as the “Mozart of Naniwa,” who created many ad jingles.

Although the TV spot only airs the part that sings the inn’s name, the piece is actually a fully developed song with up to three verses! Members of AKB48 have also appeared in past commercials and even performed the theme song.

The sudden jump from the calm imagery to the peppy theme creates a fun little contrast.
