Today, with you…Yamada Masashi

This song has been used in “Funwari Kyogetsu,” featuring Satomi Ishihara, since 2012.
It had been a hot topic since then, and it was finally released digitally in 2016.
The singer, Masashi Yamada, is the vocalist of THE BACK HORN.
Original songsawada kaori
This is an original song by singer-songwriter Kaori Sawada, created for the Suntory “The Premium Malt’s” commercial.
The gentle sound of the ukulele layered with her soft vocals matches perfectly with the visuals that portray the warmth of family.
The lyrics, which express the joy of a child’s growth, also highlight the strength of family bonds, giving the song an overall image of gentle smiles.
Because it’s sung tenderly in English, it works perfectly as background music and seems to complement the commercial’s imagery.
Both the visuals and the music convey those happy moments found in everyday life.

A Charming ParalysisOgino Kiyoko
A Suntory Iyemon green tea commercial shows Masato Sakai arriving in Kyoto and being greeted by Kotone Furukawa.
Despite having visited Kyoto many times, Sakai admits he’s never tasted Iyemon, which shocks everyone around him.
He then reacts with even greater surprise to their reaction, his curiosity piqued—Is it really that significant? Overall, it’s a comedic piece with a palpable sense of social pressure.
In The Mood × W/X/YTani Yuuki

In the Suntory The Premium Malt’s commercial, “A Good Day, Premol.
Ice Refrigerator,” summery scenes unfold! While Yo Oizumi shaves down a big block of ice to build an ice refrigerator, Shigeyuki Totsugi arrives.
The two are excited, thinking everyone will be thrilled when they show up—but the punchline is a hilarious twist: they forgot to invite everyone! The BGM features a mashup version of singer-songwriter Tani Yuuki’s signature song “X/Y/Z” with “In The Mood.” The two classics blend perfectly, so be sure to give it a listen.
Matsuken Samba II

This is a commercial where the duo Chocolate Planet conveys the appeal of Suntory’s Horoyoi Golden Sour through a parody of “Matsuken Samba II.” The glamorous visuals, modeled after the original music video, evoke the Golden Sour’s bright and rich flavor.
Not only is the lively look a highlight, but the high-quality vocals are also noteworthy.
The Flowers in the Garden

This commercial focuses on the Yamazaki Distillery in Kyoto and showcases the appeal of Premium Highball Yamazaki.
The visuals are crafted with an overall chic, composed tone that conveys a cool, high-quality atmosphere.
The BGM is an instrumental arrangement of “Niwa no Chigusa” (A Flower in the Garden), originally an Irish folk song.
Listening to the piece’s elegant, flowing melody makes you feel as if your heart is being cleansed.
Singing In The RainGene Kelly

This song was used in a 2013 commercial for Suntory Natural Mineral Water, in which Yui Natsukawa appeared as the narrator.
The song is from the 1952 musical Singin’ in the Rain, where Gene Kelly sings it in the rain.
Incidentally, in some department stores this song is used as a discreet signal to staff—letting them know that it has started raining outside so they should cover paper shopping bags with plastic sleeves to protect them from the rain, without alerting customers.
