Funny Commercials [June 2025] (181–190)
Aflac ALL-in Plus A Letter from Aflac Episode 16: “Hot Spring Inn”Sho Sakurai, Kazuki Iio, Mari Hamada

It’s a quirky story where Sho Sakurai suddenly shows up to a couple at a ryokan and recommends they review their insurance.
The key point is that he brings up insurance proposals in a situation where they don’t want to think about anything extra—like during a trip—conveying how easy it is to proceed with a review even then.
With Kazuki Iio’s catchphrases and Mari Hamada’s pointed remarks, the piece creates a comedic vibe while also conveying the positive feelings that insurance can bring.

Aflac Medical Insurance EVER Simple “Maruko: Other families are other families; ours is ours” Version

This is a commercial that expresses the anxiety of not knowing which insurance to choose—or what everyone else is doing—through the lighthearted atmosphere of the anime Chibi Maruko-chan.
When the mother wonders what others are doing, Maruko echoes the phrase she always hears, “Other families are other families; ours is ours,” and the mother almost finds herself convinced.
From there, the ad transitions to actual data and proposes starting by considering an affordable insurance plan.
The relaxed tone helps convey the sense of ease and accessibility.
Mars Japan Limited SNICKERS “PEANUTS BOY” versionIke Nwala, Hitoshi Ozawa

This is a commercial depicting a story called “Peanut Boy,” a parody of the folktale Momotaro.
The protagonist, Peanut Boy, is played by Ike Nwala, and the result is a striking video in which he sings and shows off his dance moves.
The demon that Peanut Boy defeats is played by Hitoshi Ozawa.
Despite his terrifying appearance—his face painted bright red and even sporting horns—Ozawa also breaks into a dance, making for an amusingly surreal turn of events.
With the high energy maintained from start to finish, I bet many viewers couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Uber Eats — Even during hay fever season, why not go with Uber Eats? “Hay Fever” VersionRiisa Naka, Akinori Nakao

This commercial conveys the message that Uber Eats is especially recommended when it’s hard to go outside—we want you to enjoy delicious food at home.
Here, the scenario focuses on pollen season as a time when going out is difficult, depicting how a sudden sneeze could lead to trouble.
With just one sneeze from Riisa Naka, mishaps cascade like dominoes, and in the end, Akiyoshi Nakao gets soaked trying to save a stuffed toy.
The humor lies in the extreme portrayal that it’s better to use Uber Eats to prevent situations like this.
au Value Link Plan: “The Invincible Father Appears”Shota Matsuda, Kenta Kiritani, Gaku Hamada, Kasumi Arimura, Takao Osawa

This is a commercial featuring Takao Osawa as the Emperor of Heaven, the father of Princess Kaguya played by Kasumi Arimura.
The story has the father of Princess Kaguya arriving from the moon, and viewers have been buzzing that the Emperor of Heaven who appears looks “just like Ouki from the movie Kingdom.” After a close-up of the Emperor saying, “I am invincible,” the ad introduces a new plan called the au Value Link Plan.
Orix ‘Motivation MAX! Shared Office’ VersionIchiro, Rina Kawaei

This commercial introduces the shared offices operated by ORIX and highlights the company’s commitment to supporting diverse new ways of working.
Rina Kawaei appears as an ORIX employee, advising a friend who’s looking for a place to work, conveying a sense of mutual support.
The ad also has a comedic touch, showing some bewilderment at how widely Ichiro’s suggested catchphrase, “Yaruki MAX!” (Motivation MAX!), has caught on.
Hazuki Loupe: “Ken Watanabe & Rei Kikukawa” EditionKen Watanabe, Rei Kikukawa

Many people probably remember this particular Hazuki Loupe commercial that aired in 2018 when they think of the brand.
Set on a large stage as if Ken Watanabe is giving a presentation, Rei Kikukawa serves as his assistant.
Watanabe loudly emphasizes how difficult it is to read the small print in newspapers and proposals, then demonstrates that with Hazuki Loupe, they become easy to read.
In the latter half, there’s the famous scene where Kikukawa sits on the Hazuki Loupe, highlighting its durability.
From Watanabe’s powerful opening shout to Kikukawa’s closing line, “I love Hazuki Loupe,” the commercial is packed with memorable moments.
