The 57th Banei Kinen (BG1)

57th Banei Kinen (BG1) Commercial

This is a commercial introducing Ban’ei horse racing, held only in Obihiro, Hokkaido—the sole place in Japan where it takes place.

Alongside footage of the races, the ad incorporates illustrations from Fist of the North Star, vividly conveying the appeal of Ban’ei racing, where viewers can enjoy the intense battles of the racehorses.

In addition to the visuals, the powerful narration stands out, giving the entire commercial a cool, dynamic feel.

Hokkaido Bank Rapid — because it’s Do-Gin: “Rapid Dancer” versionTaka and Toshi

Hokkaido Bank Rapid “Because it’s Do-Gin.” Rapid Dancer version

This is a commercial for Hokkaido Bank featuring the comedy duo Taka and Toshi from Hokkaido, who don a Showa-era male idol look and perform an original song in the style of kayōkyoku.

The music-show-style staging, with many dancers backing their performance, is definitely memorable once you see it!

ABC Housing

ABC Housing Commercial 2005/05

This commercial perfectly matches a genuine country-style jingle with a nostalgic anime vibe.

If you look closely, you’ll notice an unusual, eye-catching scene: taking a cat for a walk on a leash.

In another version of the ad, the CM song was written and composed by Susumu Sugawara of Billy BanBan, showing ABC Housing’s dedication to its background music.

The exceptionally peaceful country music and the cute art style are truly soothing!

Try dipping it, try pouring it (miso).

Try it with miso, pour it with miso — 30 seconds

Tsukete Miso Kakete Miso is a miso sauce with an elegant sweetness that works with virtually any dish.

Made and sold by Nakamo Co., Ltd., it’s beloved—especially by Aichi residents—as a versatile seasoning.

Its catchy, say-it-out-loud name is a big part of the appeal.

The TV commercial features a light, cheerful melody and shows recommended ways to use it, clearly conveying that it’s great not only for Nagoya specialties but for many kinds of dishes.

The bright, memorable singing boosts the desire to give it a try.

Takahashi Development

Takahashi Development commercial starring Shigeru Matsuzaki

Takahashi Kaihatsu is a real estate company headquartered in Hirakata City, Osaka.

Their TV commercial song sung by Shigeru Matsuzaki makes a strong impact; with its thick sound and outstanding vocals, it conveys the idea of an ideal home.

The song’s quality is so high that it’s almost hard to register what the commercial is actually for—which is part of its charm.

The setup, where Shigeru Matsuzaki walks into a family’s home singing and the family looks bewildered, is also unique.

The final phrase introducing Takahashi Kaihatsu shifts to a lighter tone compared to the preceding vocals, ensuring that the company name alone sticks firmly in your ears.

[Famous] Compilation of Local TV Commercials Nationwide (111–120)

Shin Nihon House

Ikuzo Yoshi “Dream” New Japan House commercial song

Shin Nihon House is a company based in Koshigaya, Saitama Prefecture that specializes in home renovations.

The company gained attention with singer Ikuzo Yoshi appearing in its commercials as the brand ambassador, along with the image song “Dream.” Although the commercials were broadcast in the Kanto region, due to network arrangements they were also seen nationwide, not just in Kanto.

The song expresses deep affection for the towns we’ve lived in, and the commercials prompt viewers to think about what they can do to continue living in the towns they feel attached to.

Coca-Cola Bonaqua: “For this island’s everyday life – 555 ml bottle” / “For this island’s everyday life – 2-liter bottle”Yuri Kakazu

This is an introductory commercial for Bonaqua, sold by Coca-Cola.

At the time the commercial aired, it was sold exclusively in Okinawa, and it’s striking how the product’s features are presented to an original song that sounds like Okinawan folk music.

Playing on “Uchina,” which means “of Okinawa,” the lyrics humorously sing “Uchi-nansui” (a pun on “soft water”), creating a friendly, approachable feel.
