HARIBO 2021 TV commercial

This commercial is impactful yet heartwarming and soothing when you watch it.
Just when you think a group of large sumo wrestlers has appeared…
you hear an incredibly cute child’s voice saying “Look, look!” while holding HARIBO.
When you first saw this ad, didn’t you all go blank in surprise? The big sumo wrestlers speak in adorable voices, and they fuss over HARIBO—the cute, bear-shaped gummies that look even smaller in their hands.
And in the end, just when you expect a sumo match…
they start a fingertip sumo game using HARIBO instead.
It’s an endlessly cute commercial.
Kappa Ebisen “Yamatoma Song” Version

Speaking of “Can’t stop, won’t stop,” that’s got to be Calbee’s Kappa Ebisen, right? In the Kappa Ebisen commercial “Yamatoma Song” featuring Yuya Tegoshi, he shows off an intense dance to that catchphrase.
With movements that seem to mimic a shrimp and energetic moves that express the feeling of not being able to stop, he embodies the snack’s catchphrase with his whole body.
In the end, he even shortens it to “Yame, toma!” as if overwhelmed by Kappa Ebisen’s irresistible power.
He keeps dancing the whole time, and the CM wraps up with him saying, “It’s delicious.”
Jagarico: “That Commercial, Again” Edition

Calbee’s Jagarico is hugely popular with everyone from kids to adults.
In this commercial, “That CM Once Again,” featuring Haruna Kawaguchi, they recreate the impactful ad that aired at the time of its 1995 launch.
1995 is also the year Haruna Kawaguchi was born, making her the same generation as Jagarico—an opportunity to reintroduce its appeal.
With a snappy rhythm, she crunches the Jagarico sticks, popping them into her mouth in quick bites.
It’s the kind of thing that makes you want to imitate it—and many people probably have (lol).
Country Ma’am Choco-Mamire “Love Duet” Version

Country Ma’am is a signature confection from Fujiya that has been on sale since 1984.
These irresistibly moist cookies are featured in this commercial for Country Ma’am Choco-Mamire, titled “Love Duet.” It’s sure to catch your eye with an animated spot starring Mamire-san, a character who’s completely coated in rich chocolate—just like the beloved Country Ma’am cookie—soaking in a pool of chocolate.
The jingle is a parody of the classic chanson “Hymne à l’amour.”
Karl “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter” Edition

Speaking of commercials featuring Uncle Karl—with his yellow hat and distinctive round mustache circling his mouth—it has to be the ad for Meiji’s Karl snack, right? In the “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter” version, Uncle Karl is shown spending time in each season: plum blossoms in spring; a thunder god appearing with a sudden summer downpour; a festival with animals in autumn; and an encounter with a snowman in winter.
Karl is present in every season, and every creature wants a taste of the delicious snack.
In this commercial, the classic Karl jingle, “Iimondana Furusato wa,” is sung by Ryuichi Kawamura of LUNA SEA.
Choco Monaka Jumbo “Time Travel” Version

Morinaga’s Choco Monaka Jumbo celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022.
It’s one of those famous ice creams you’ve probably tried at least once, right? In the “Time Travel” commercial that lets you grasp the product’s history at a glance, Kanjani Eight ride a time machine and appear on screen.
You can watch it feeling like you’re time-traveling with them—from the original 1972 launch packaging, to the chocolate sauce era of 1980, and to 1996 when it took on the “Jumbo” name and grew 1.5 times larger.
Seeing it like this really makes you want to eat one, doesn’t it?
Toppo “Slot” version

When you think of Toppo commercials, that catchphrase “Yappa kore da ne— Lotte no Toppo!” instantly plays in your head with the melody, right? And when you think of Toppo, you think of Tomoya Nagase.
In the “Slot Machine” ad, Nagase’s face spins on a slot machine, and when it stops, three Nagases start chatting.
They try to line up Toppo’s defining feature, “filled with chocolate to the very end,” but in the end unexpected versions of “-tappuri” (meaning “plenty of”) pop up, like “plenty of romance” and “plenty of reality” (lol).
