Suntory Reserve 10 Years 1996 / Kirin Beer: Shochu Soda “That’s pure happiness.” Version

Many people probably find themselves itching with that feeling of “I’ve heard this before, but I don’t know what it’s called!” This piece was originally written by Ary Barroso in 1939 under the title “Aquarela do Brasil.” It was later covered by many artists and came to be widely known by its current title, “Brazil.” Over the years, multiple commercials have used various artists’ cover versions: Jeff and Maria Muldaur’s version was featured in a 1996 Suntory Reserve 10 Years commercial, and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra’s cover was used in a 2024 Kirin Beer commercial.
It’s truly a classic beloved across eras and genres.
Suntory Draft Beer MALT’S

The song ‘’S Wonderful’ used in the commercial for Suntory Draft Beer MALT’S was composed in 1927 by the Gershwin brothers, Ira and George Gershwin.
In addition to being performed in the Broadway musical ‘Funny Face,’ it was also used as the theme song for the 1957 film ‘Funny Face.’ The commercial features a version arranged for strings by the Alban Berg Quartet, giving it a more leisurely and elegant atmosphere than the original.
Suntory GREEN DA•KA•RA Gentle Barley Tea “The Mighty Power of Sprouted Barley: Dodonto” / “That Gentle-Looking Face”Tsuyoshi Kusanagi

This commercial features Tsuyoshi Kusanagi as the gentle Yasashii Man, introducing the GREEN DA•KA•RA tea series in various ways.
In the barley tea segment, he loudly proclaims the power of sprouted barley, his voice echoing across a barley field, and through changes in his expressions he also recommends rooibos and corn tea.
His smiling introductions for each tea clearly convey how easy they are to incorporate into everyday life.
Suntory Jim Beam “JIM Highball × Gurunai” VersionShintaro Moriyama (Mitorizu), Seiya (Shimofuri Myojo)

This commercial features Seiya suggesting they practice the “Gourmet Chicken Race: Gochi ni Naru!” segment from the popular show Guruguru Ninety-Nine at a certain restaurant, and Moriyama joining in despite quipping, “I’ve already been fired!” Seiya orders some dishes and a Jim Beam highball, but the outcome is wildly off the mark.
Still, when Seiya says he’s happy just to be able to eat and drink together, Moriyama’s subtly delighted expression leaves an impression.
The direction makes you want to get together with easygoing friends, and that feeling really stands out.
Suntory CRAFT BOSS World of TEA Alien Jones & Four Sisters: PatrolTommy Lee Jones, Takako Matsu, Hana Sugisaki, Yumi Kawai, Sairi Ito

This piece aims to spark solid interest in Craft Boss’s World TEA by also showing scenes from the local regions.
The four sisters set off on a patrol around the world, and even after they return, they each reminisce about the places through the World TEA.
By having each of them hold a different flavor, it clearly conveys the variety as well.
Summary of Suntory commercials: Popular beverage ads like BOSS and Kin-Mugi (111–120)
Suntory Kinmugi “Evening Drink Sour” – “We’ve Started Sour” VersionHaru Kuroki

This commercial highlights the surprising fact that Kin-Mugi has started making a sour, drawing attention to what it tastes like.
In the ad, Hana Kuroki drinks Kin-Mugi Evening Drink Sour and shares her thoughts, and the expansive barley field in the background adds a refreshing feel.
Helping to further emphasize the sense that something new has begun is “Bittersweet Samba.” Well-known as a radio theme song, this track clearly conveys the anticipation that something is about to start.
Its bright brass tones are striking, and the music gives a sense of fun.
Suntory -196 “What?! Acerola Double is out!” Version

The -196 commercial is a blast with its high-energy vibe from start to finish.
In addition to the familiar face of Nagisa Shibuya, comedian Yasuko also appears, and while their banter doesn’t always make perfect sense, it’s funny and somehow heartwarming to watch.
The BGM continues to use an arrangement of Magokoro Brothers’ “Dokan” from the previous installment.
It’s a classic at baseball games and a song that really lifts your spirits when you hear it.
